Interweaving immersive storytelling with irreverent, improvised humor, the Glass Cannon Podcast delivers like no other the experience of what it's really like to sit around a table playing role-playing games with your best buds. Founded in 2015, the Glass Cannon Podcast has risen to prominence as one of the most recognized and celebrated Actual Play podcasts in the world. While the hosts were raised on D&D and started off with mostly Pathfinder podcasts, the past decade has seen the Network evolve to produce shows featuring every tabletop RPG under the sun.In May of 2022, the original Pathfinder 1E Giantslayer adventure came to an end and the previously unreleased podcast episodes of the Strange Aeons live tour were added. In September of 2023, Campaign Two began as GM and Glass Cannon Network CEO Troy Lavallee led a crew of network founders Joe O'Brien, Skid Maher and Matthew Capodicasa along with fan-favorites Sydney Amanuel and Kate Stamas through the Pathfinder 2E Gatewalkers Adventure Path. In 2025, the highly anticipated Campaign Three begins as well as a brand new homebrewed live tour - Ascension!

    A+ Comedy, Style, and Content
Truly separated themselves from the rest of actual play shows simply by sticking to the rules and being willing to lose a fight, and lose a character. Very funny, New York style comedy, mixed with great storytelling and role playing. Could not recommend it more!

    High hopes, rocky follow through
It starts with the host periodically re-recording an apology (his words) to put at the beginning of the first episode that they make some inappropriate jokes, etc. So I gave them grace and listened with that in mind. 150 episodes later all of them are making jokes about slaves and Joe is boldly appropriating cultures by mashing together Indigenous languages because he likes how his nonsense offensiveness sounds. It takes them each having children and events like BLM and MeToo to get any amount of perspective and even then it’s limited growth. For this to be an official Pathfinder podcast speaks about that brand and how it presents itself.

    Great show, go listen!
The Glass Cannon Network doesn’t miss. GCP 2.0 is a great addition to their amazing lineup of shows. Crazy funny, great player chemistry, intriguing worldbuilding, high drama, kleptomania, this show has it all. Don’t hesitate, and don’t miss their other shows also! Their Strange Aeons campaign has the best/funniest 7 minutes of podcast I’ve ever heard and will ever hear (Eris/Ethel shippers know) and I left a separate review for Androids & Aliens which is to me a perfect show. You don’t need a background in role-playing games to enjoy! Go listen!

No matter where I’m at I always listen to the pod and without fail I laugh several times per episode. This is the ONLY podcast I’ve actually partook in a spit take. Thank you all for wasting perfectly good beer. Thank you and keep up the magic!

    Love this show
I’ve been listening to the GCP for over five years and it’s become a huge part of my listening rotation. I love the interaction and funny nature of their relationships. They have found a perfect balance of comedy, drama and combat to keep the action and intensity going. I can’t recommend enough.

I’m on my second listen of giantslayet
The gameplay is complex, the characters are so well developed they feel like like good friends and the cast is amazingly talented. I listen to something from this network every day and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Troy told me to give it 5 stars.

    My favorite podcast.
I adore this podcast. I can’t recommend the GCP enough. The amount of care and work that Troy and the gang put into making this show is endlessly rewarding. I mean that, though I know it probably sounds hyperbolic. Years and years of joy.

Best Real play podcast out there
I can’t believe I hadn’t stumbled across this sooner, but when I did a couple months ago I binged the entire current campaign. Sense of humor is great though it did get me some weird looks in the doctors office waiting room when I burst out laughing for no visible reason. Keep up the great work girls and guys. and keep being yourselves. One of the best things is how every person at the table has their own unique style of play and all allow their personalities to shine through.
  • Wachetta
    Great friends great show
I listen because it reminds me of playing with my friends. Emulates the feeling about being at the table and I love that feeling of the show over anything else. Great job.
  • rachieroo24
Best actual plays in the biz
A funny, charismatic group of folks that really manage to distill some true “at the table” feeling actually plays. They’ve got just the right amount of humor, seriousness, and everything else in most of the shows they produce

    I can’t stop listening
I won’t lie… my husband was trying to get me to listen for YEARS and I was unsure if I would be into it. Now I can’t stop listening. Great contents, amazing jokes, and a wonderful show all around!

    Meh
Really wanted to give it 5 stars but then Troy opened his mouth
  • Lamodeon
    Great show!
Also I’m scared they’ll trash me on the show if I give anything less than five stars.
  • Moondog356896532
    Best in the business
Amazing chemistry between the cast, perfect balance of funny/dramatic roleplay, splicing the virtual tabletop into the show for context/creature and character depictions. This is everything you’d want your own TTRPG to be

Still my comfort show after all these years
I’ve been listening to these nerds since 2016 when I was a teenager and I feel like these guys raised me. Been there in my darkest hours making me laugh when I didn’t think it was possible to not feel terrible.

    We’re having fun
So good. So so so good. Start at episode one and hang on for the ride. Get ready for all of the emotions. Update: October 2024. Still so so good.
  • Reebo Kesh
If only Critical Role was this good.
The only actual play podcast where the banter at the start of the episode should be its own podcast. The only actual play podcast that doesn’t censor the humor and makes you laugh until you cry. The only actual play podcast that makes long drawn out campaigns fun. The only actual play podcast worth listening to imho.

    Good but not Great (imo)
I finished the Giantslayer campaign, and that’s what my review is mostly based upon. Pros: They are a fun group to listen to. They can be incredibly funny and generally roleplay very well. Their reactions of excitement and horror are great. Most have pretty animated personalities on the show. They make you feel like you’re at their table, feeling their emotions as players (and sometimes as characters). This was all enough to keep me going through Giantslayer, however I was eager to get through it by the halfway point. The final battle episode was epic! But now I need a break from these guys. Cons: I didn’t like most of the flashback scenes or the side stories added into the campaign much, because they felt tacked on and sometimes pointless to me. If added content felt like it integrated more with the main adventure, I would have felt differently. I usually found myself just wanting to get through the scripted, cinematically described “cutscenes”. I prefer backstories to appear in regular play, organically, and that was a rarity on this show. Just not what I’m looking for in roleplaying games. These don’t happen all the time though. Their mean humor, bashing each other, could get grating. It was over the top at times, and a consistent part of the show. Their increasingly long banter about random topics, not related to the game, at the beginnings of episodes got annoying. I like a little of that to get to know the players, but it was too much. The amount of time they spent discussing rules they didn’t know was tiring. The Giantslayer campaign can be a slog at a number of points. Maybe this is how a lot of Pathfinder adventures are. I still give them 4 out of 5 stars though.
  • AlienBBQs
    I don’t hate it.
But I sometimes think that they do. Why does Joe even play? Pretty much every episode, he is raging at the game system (that they are sponsored by no less). The story is good. The characters they create are memorable and engaging. The banter is god-awful when it takes quarter of an hour before they even start bringing the story into it. And in that same thought, the Christmas music is annoying when you’re listening in May. And agree with Matthew, about arbitrary celebrations and birthdays! Anyway. Finished Giantslayer and am moving on to Strange Aeons. If you read this far, give Androids and Aliens a listen. I paused this one to binge that for 7 weeks.

    Unbelievably good
Looking for something new (to me) in the AP space, I started listening to this on June 23. Yesterday (August 30), I finished the final episode of Giantslayer - ep 326. That’s averaging 5-6 episodes a day. Every day. I could not stop listening to this show. I’m excited for all the other stories on this network. It’s funny, snarky, friendly, and narratively wonderful. The performances are great and it’s really opened me up to Pathfinder.

    Awesome shows, good creators
There is a vast number of shows (free or otherwise) across the GCN(Naish), ran by so many different personalities and styles that even if one isn't your speed, there's probably another you'll enjoy. Troy's current drive to emulate TECH CEOS with his 'content' and 'self described narcissism' gets tiring on the behind the scenes shows, but they're free and I can skip them if I bore of them. I'be never felt like a GCN episode was stalling or going through the motions or trying to do anything but their best. Most of your reviews are positive Troy.
  • Derxaeronautic
Once iconic, now not so much
If you love character development and high quality production….you should have listened to this when it came out before you were forced to slog through ads and modern eggshell tiptoeing. Once built around character development and story now dedicated to massive casts and pandering. Giantslayer is incredible (but for the new edits and ads) everything else is a pass
  • ILikePods93
I didn’t even know what Pathfinder was when I picked this up
I love the show. My friend recommended that I listen to it thinking I’d like it. Well, she was right. I listened to the first six or seven episode of season two, and then since there were no more in that season yet, I started over at episode one and haven’t stopped listening to it since. The sheer number of episodes I’ve binged is unhealthy, but I don’t care. Now I’m GM’ing a Pathfinder campaign and slogging my own way through all of the rules with joy. Thanks for doing what you do!

Not as good as it used to be.
Not sure what else to say.

    Fun and funny adventuring
This show is fun and funny, with good storytelling and adventuring. I'm only 8 episodes in the original cycle but love it so far. I came to this podcast based on the Get in the Trunk show, a different game featuring the same people.
