Bill Nye's Funniest Thoughts by Bill Nye (1850 - 1896)

12

Bill Nye was a famous American humor columnist in the middle 1800's. He said "We can never be a nation of snobs so long as we are willing to poke fun at ourselves." And he did exactly that in hundreds of newspaper columns that were later collected into books. This is a selection of just 35 of the most humorous, wry and downright funny cogitations of his, written of course in the somewhat convoluted style common in the 19th century which just adds to their flavor in my opinion. The selection process was rigorous: only those that made me laugh, giggle or snort are included. (Summary by phil Chenevert)

    Learning and Lauging
I’m really liking Bill Nye’s thoughts so far, and getting a good laugh as well as learning some interesting stuff. I find nothing “aggravating and robotic” in the least about the readers voice, in fact i really enjoy the intonation and emphasis that he puts into these recordings, feels like i am really hearing an eccentric character like Nye himself. I grew up with Bill Nye “the science guy” but this Nye may be even funnier! Well done, don’t let other reviews put you off.

Thanks for the tidbits of knowledge.
The robot narrator’s voice is aggravating, but I enjoy listening to this. It’s pretty funny and covers a lot of general science mixed with scoop of annoying politics. I give it two thumbs up. IMHO, It would be better without the robot voice and politics.
