Some good episodes. Some (just like the last one) aren’t so great

Truly the best Islanders podcast. Every episode is over an hour and yet none of them are long enough.

Mike & Dan are the best podcasters out there

I love these guys. Dan and Mike are super geeks in all the right ways, and are basically like a more humble version of Greg Wyshnski of ESPN but just for Islanders fans. they are truly at their best when reminiscing or waxing poetic on the team in their dark days past, and the new sub series “Weird Islander” truly captures Dan and Mike in their wheelhouse. I’ve listened to all the competition - The Andrew Gross & Arthur Staple podcasts, Mike Carver, Eyes on Isles, Hockey Night In New York…this podcast is by far the most relaxed in tone by two guys very comfortable in their own skin. Side note, Mike sounds like a teenager the way he talks with that nasal delivery, but I can assure you he’s a grown man (and a new dad - congrats sir!). And a very clever podcaster. Also the only enjoyable Isles podcast to listen to after Isles losses / during losing streaks…I don’t think these guys will know what to do with themselves if the Isles ever win a cup in their lifetime 😃

Mike and Dan’s conversations are amazing about the current state of the team.

Mike and Dan are stunningly in-tune with Islander fans feelings, and they are so on target with their analysis. They say thigs no one else will say, and analyze situations far below the radar. The last thing we need is another analysis of the games of the week - leave that to the boring people, who never played in the NHL, in the media (with the exception of Butch!) I have been an avid Islander fan since 1974 and these guys get all of the history and passion, which is so appreciated! Keep up the great work guys, and keep stealing it at gunpoint every week! By the way, how can I go back and listen to old episodes prior to 2019?

Mike and Dan are the true conscience of the realest of real islanders fans. The last few years have been an exceptional ride with this podcast. Having the team turn a corner, and enjoying the playoff ride with these guys has helped make it through the pandemic to this point. Please keep it going! Hope I win the ebay contest! @jayfrank44

Good content by Noel and Dan but the audio quality is terrible week in and week out. The other podcasts on Lighthouse have much better audio. Just fix the audio and you’d get a five rating.

As an avid Islander fan to hear these guys speak what’s on my mind and really break it down is wonderful. They are smooth and work well together. Love it. I’d give it 10 stars if I could.

While they often have excellent guests the hosts themselves are a bit of a disappointment. Noel will often make a statement and when challenged by Dan, more times than not, reverses field. Too often Dan lectures the Isles fans on how we should react to events and can come off as condescending. It is a shame because as stated above, they do secure good guests and the topics are on point....it is the hosts that miss the mark.

Gave this numerous tries. It’s just so bad. There’s just zero substance and a lot of really bad takes.

Sound quality is garbage. Stop using speakerphone. Content is decent. Eyes on Isles is much better. If you combine these two, you’d have a top notch Isles podcast.

Dan and Noel tell it like it is

I’ve listened to every episode but this podcast is unlistenable at times because Dan sounds like he’s a million miles away from the mic, so you have to turn the volume all the way up just to hear him. Then Noel comes on and explodes your ear drums. Once you get the volume back down nicely for Noel, he proposes a crazy EA Sports trade, so then you turn off the podcast. Then you realize there are not many Isles podcast options and at least these guys put one out every week, so you keep listening. Volume up, ear drum explosion, crazy trade, rinse, repeat.

I love this podcast. One of the best islander podcasts. Great job boys.
