This podcast doesn’t actually discuss the open source laravel framework. They only discuss laravels paid products which means it’s nothing but an advertisement for their paid products. They literally started with starter kits. Want to know how that came about? Money, that’s how. Taylor Otwell sold out the open source community the minute he started to make products for laravel that are solely paid. Tony Lea is no better either 😂😂. The devdojo originally attempting to charge for its products but since no one paid for it, they switched gears towards free products via a subscription. I get using laravel to make paid products but that isn’t what their doing. They are making paid products for laravel itself. I’ll bet money that in just a few years laravel will have 2 versions, a free and paid version. Just like their laravel cloud. They want people to pay money merely to launch a laravel app quicker. I tried a live wire starter kit and it was horrible? It doesn’t even come with the same features as laravel jetstream. Why even do it? Money, that is why.

Love the recap of Laravel news. However, the volume level is quite a bit lower than other podcasts I listen to. 😕

I’ve been listing to this podcast for quite some time. I enjoy keeping up on the Laravel-news.com website and listening to the podcast because it helps get ideas on uses for things I’ve learned from the blog posts and tutorials on the site.

Great Podcast about Laravel and PHP. Guys are killing it every time!

I love the content of this podcast. I enjoy the talk about new releases and new packages. I could do without the pointless intro conversations in the beginning.

You guys get me through long solo car rides. Love getting an overview of things happening in the ecosystem and the community. The format is very informative, but also love the relaxed nature of the conversation. It’s also the coolest thing to hear about either a contribution or package I made and hear my name mentioned on the show. Luckily I have an easy name anyone can pronounce.

I’m just starting to learn laravel, coming from a dot Net background. This is the only pod cast I’ve ever subscribed to so far. You guys are great. Keep up the good work and thank you!!

Jacob and Michael are fantastic hosts. I appreciate the technical depth they cover while still keeping the concepts approachable for developers at all points in the dev journey. I appreciate all the time and care they put in to each episode.
