thetabyteMy favorite TTRPG podcastIf I want to check out a new system, the very first thing that I do is check whether there’s a Party of One episode about it—and Jeff pulls in such an incredible diversity of games, that quite frequently, there is! He and his guests do an incredible job showcasing the mechanics, displaying what makes the system special, and telling a tight compelling narrative—somehow in an hour and a half, every time. It’s truly amazing stuff.

reltasticExtraordinaryThis is my go to podcast when I’m curious about a new game. If it’s an episode of the show, I know I’m going to get a great example of a great game.

Aram VartianTwo Can Play At This GameThere are showrunners who are amazing storytellers, and showrunners who are brilliant game masters. If you are lucky, some are even compassionate and decent. It is quite a rare thing to get all three in one person. What Jeff has built with Party of 1 has shown thousands of gamers how to be better to each other. It is also an amazing showcase of games, systems, guests, and stories, but at its core it is a lesson about kindness. Jeff taught me that TTRPG shows need to be more than spectacle, celebrity, and production. They need to care, and they need to be designed to make space for others. Thank you for keeping us all honest, Jeff, and for making the space we all play in better.

EndallifeExtraordinarily OffendedAs a William Paterson alumni and victim of multiple summer semesters, I am incredibly offended by your episodes of Kingdom with Gregg Gethard. The jokes made at the college’s expense are 100% accurate and absolutely hilarious. I am that one person who has walked through the student center there and been handed a flyer for something obscure like an ultra violence yelp review mic night in Paterson. Every episode of this podcast is incredible and it only gets better as time goes on. I would give you 10 out of 5 stars if I was allowed by Lord Apple.

UrizenxviiProbably one of the most important RPG podcastsJeff's command of different genres, systems, and playstyles combine with his love of people in this masterwork. No matter what you're into, he's probably featured a game (or 5) that you will instantly want to buy.

My Name is GrantJeff’s secret techniqueJeff Stormer’s incredible enthusiasm for the games and his guests makes this a joy to listen to, and an asset in its field.

IceColeBrewA fantastic show and API have been listening to Party of One for a while, and it is such a great place to find new TTRPGs and hear such fantastic stories. Every guest on the show has such a huge trust in Jeff when he GMs for players you can see how far they are willing to go to tell a fantastic story. If you want a good example of being excited and yes and for story telling this is a premiere place to be.

VMTeaseFun listenI found Jeff through All My Fantasy Children and decided to give this podcast a try. Yet another amazing product. I have favorites that I’ve listened to repeatedly but…there’s something about Star crossed wrestlers that make me happy. Thanks for all the comfort casts you’re part of Jeff!
-
d00keeTop tierThis show always delivers. It is real interaction between people that seem genuinely happy to be playing games and creating stories together.
-
guy_phillipsBest actual play podcast there isUsually, I don’t really go for actual plays. I’d rather be playing them, you know? But the way Jeff brings the audience along, it feels like I’m at the table with them. In general I prefer the funny episodes but by far, my favorite episode has got to be The Long Year. It was heartbreaking, suspenseful, and the end left me totally spent. I can’t imagine going to any other source for getting reviews of rpgs or listening to on the spot world building.
-
UmpeltyWe can't afford to buy all these gamesWe Packbats stumbled over the game "New Normal" by Ell on itch.io a little while back, and we saw an actual-play link for it, and we clicked that link, and I'm super glad we did. That episode was really fun and relatable and kind and supportive... ...and then the "i'm sorry did you say street magic" episode was beautiful and fascinating, the "Knowing You" episode broke our dang heart, the "52 Days on the Ice" and "Picking Up the Pieces" and "Pull Me From the Earth" episodes were so full of emotion and care, "Space Legs" was an absolute joy to every part of us that grew up reading sci-fi, "Our Time on Earth" was funny and sweet and contemplative... ...this is our favorite podcast right now. This podcast makes us want to play more RPGs, run more RPGs, and heckin' /write/ more RPGs - we unearthed an old idea of ours just yesterday and made a draft version of the rules for it. This podcast is wonderful, and thanks to you both and to all your guests for making it so amazing and inclusive and inspiring.
-
bullfrogjamThe Best Indie RPG PodcastJeff and his guest introduce great games every episode. You’ll learn about amazing new games and laugh and cry along the way. Enjoy
-
devprestoDelightful, dedicated role playingThis show is an incredible gift for anyone who is interested in expanding their role playing hobby, to try new games, or to wade into one-on-one play. Jeff is an excellent GM, player, and community commissioner with a great instinct for fun and for drama. Also the podcast is mostly one-shots so it’s easy to jump right in and join the party!
-
BiohaserdFocused burst of play and storytelling!Love Jeff’s enthusiasm and creativity! Hearing these small games played helps me know how they work and why. The small cast also focuses on the game and the creator, who may fade into the background of a larger show.
-
dreamstobecomeIt’s like speed-dating for the ttrpg community but with way more heartJeff is truly one of the kindest fellas on the block and he is a knowledgeable powerhouse about tabletop rigs. In Party of One he and one other person sit down to play an RPG - just the two of them - and prove that you don’t need a big budget, high tech streaming rig, and an established fandom to tell an incredible story. Enjoy learning about new games in an uplifting, genuine experience with different creators and players, and get to know the incredible Jeff Stormer along the way.
-
gobaspieboxWow Jeff, just wow.Not a fan of long form AP but this is great for when I want a bite of AP content. Love it and can’t wait to dive into more.
-
drewktcWonderful actual play podcast! The one-on-one actual play nature of this podcast make it so unique and every episode has such an interesting flavor to it. The host is genuinely kind and does a great job engaging the guests. A must listen!
-
magicalgirlkyraA One of a Kind PartyParty of One is hands down one of the best actual play podcasts. Each episode provides a new story covering such a wide variety of genre and tone that there's assuredly one for everyone. On top of being an engaging host with a talent for balancing humor and emotional impact, Jeff has learned an impressive array of systems, even adapting several to work better in a two player format. If you want to learn about a new game, finding a Party of One episode where it's played is a great first step

Character-ChloeSo many new games to check out! Please allow Jeff and his guests to bring new, exciting, and diverse two-player games (and rules variants!) into your life. This podcast brings to life stories of all kinds and lets you get a feel for the games by listening to how they can play! Your gaming shelf (and your thirst for adventure!) will thank you.
-
Unique Exemplar2 player RPGs? Who knew?Jeff does what I never imagined - make a podcast featuring RPGs with 2 people (GM included!) This podcast has opened my eyes to so many games in a way I didn't think possible.
-
ssamothraceI like this a lotFantastic fun! Jeff is a wonderful host!
-
Nick.RobertsonA Journey through RPG PossibilitiesNever has an AP podcast hit so many different tones and adventures so quickly. Each episode is a different system, a different story, and a different style. I love the way Jeff brings people in to his show and boosts them up, and he also just tells a heck of a tale. There's something in here for everyone, and it deserves to be listened to.
-
Bradleyman612Lots of funMaybe it’s because I grew up an only child and often had just one other person to play with... This is a great podcast- if you enjoy actual play RPG- I strongly suggest randomly listening any of them. So far they are all good...
-
corvidcallOne of my favesJeff is a great GM, a great player, and, more than anything, an incredible collaborator, who manages to draw the best out of everyone that he works with. It’s surprisingly rare skill, but its such a treat to hear. Every time I want to try a new system, I check to see if Jeff’s played it on here, because I know it’ll great to listen to!
-
Benjamin GildasBest 1:1 PodcastParty of One is hands down the best 1:1 podcast out there, and I say that as someone who hosts a 1:1 actual play podcast! Jeff brings on the best guests and is fantastic at creating great RP space. If you start you'll get hooked, guaranteed. Check it out!
-
EljefetacomaJeff gets it. He runs a good game.Jeff is totally good at this. He tells great stories, he gets great guests, and he puts cool spins on everything. A fun show for sure.
-
Observer138The Best Showcase for Two-Player RPGSLike the review title says, this show is the best showcase for one-player-and-a-GM and 2-player GMless games out there. The host is wonderfully personable and does and excellent job of making the material sing. I've bought a number of games I'd never have heard of if it weren't for this show, and I alway eagerly await the next episode.
-
Richard KLA total blast! This show is a ton of fun to listen to. There are a ton of really cool two player RPGs out there, as well as hacks for games originally intended for more players. Jeff picks out the cream of the crop and shows them off with gusto. The show highlights the kind of storytelling you can do with just two people at the table. There's never a moment when the player doesn't get to shine because it's just the two of you. There are the kind of pulpy adventure stories you'd expect from a "normal" game with several players, but also unique experiences that dig into the kind of intimate experience you can have when you're having a deep conversation with someone one-on-one. It's a fantastic show that has made me laugh and cry.

Skylar StillsPhiladelphia's finestI'm not a tabletop gamer or a convention-goer, but I am a guy who loves a good podcast and has a lot of time to fill at work. I probably have over a year's worth of hours of podcast-listening experience, and I've become such a fan that I found myself at Philadelphia's podcast festival this year, where you'll find only the most hardcore podcast enthusiasts braving the world outside their home or office. It was here that I found Jeff's podcast, and here that I decided that I needed to continue listening to it every week. Now I get an amazing story every week, and I get to learn about the vast and interesting world of narrative tabletop gaming, with more games than I could ever imagine. Jeff picks up each new game with the finesse of a seasoned pro and quickly launches into a story that's sure to entertain. Most podcasts I listen to are widely-known comedians and celebrities with tons of resources and connections to put toward making an engaging program, and the fact that this podcast stands alongside them in my playlist is a testament to what a master Jeff is with this craft. Get this show the recognition it deserves and listen along!
-
Kent BlueSuch a great podcast!Jeff is such a great GM with an engaging style. Two player RPGs are awesome and this show proves that with every episode. Well worth your time.
-
GottaGetByInspirationNot only does this show makes me want to play table tops more, but I just might find one my wife would like. Any chance you can play “monster of the week”?
-
ibluewizardA Unique take on the AP podcast formatOne-on-one RPG's hold a special place in my heart, as my longest played D&D game was just me and the DM. Jeff and his guests play a wide variety of games made for two players, and many modified to fit the format. I've picked up more than a few of these games for myself because of the performances on this podcast.
-
mumphry999really different formatThis show runs one on one games only and it has demonstrated that with some thought and direction about any game can be adapted for single play. It has been nice to be exposed to a lot of games through this podcast that i never would have otherwise.
-
Oh how I hate iTunesTerrific for finding new gamesChalk me up as one more gamer who was pretty dubious about one-on-one games until I started listening to this podcast. Listening to it is so satisfying — it's like a series of interesting, diverse short stories, with the added bonus that every episode teaches me about a new game I might want to try with a friend. The GM is creative, quick on his feet, and generous with his play partner, which makes this show tremendously entertaining.
-
WingbonesGreat PodcastThis is the podcast that brought me into podcasts (and back into gaming). I stumbled across it on accident while searching if two-player ttrpgs were even possible, and guess what? They are, and they're great! Jeff runs a broad variety of games; Party of One is good both as a reference and as entertainment. Give it a shot!
-
Temporal KitsuneGreat Podcast Especially Episode 8Great podcast all around. A new favorite of mine. Found this podcast earlier this week and have been working my way through and thoroughly enjoying every episode. Even ones I initially thought I wouldn't be a fan of due to the topic of the game being played. A perfect case in point is episode 8, the fact that they could take a subject like chronic migraines and make an entire episode handling the subject matter in an engaging, entertaining, and tactful way is truly amazing. When the episode started and they were explaining the game for the week I was considering skipping the episode, extremely glad I didn't. Excellent job, please keep up the good work.
-
1nspectorNot worth your time.If you're looking to be judged for you political or religious views, this is GREAT. Looking for an entertaining cooperative story among open minded people.... not so great.
-
moonstalker24EntertainingI was a little skeptical at first. This podcast was recommended to me by a friend, and while a couple of the episodes have been hit or miss for me, I still find it overall enjoyable. The one-on-one format gives new perspective to RPGs, which is great, and I've even looked into a couple of the games themselves because of this podcast. The dialog is entertaining and organic. Overall, a great podcast.

LodyayHappy YuleSoooooo much fun to listen keep them coming!

Brandon (DrCaptainKobold)Set The Table AgainOne of the primary complaints people have in the tabletop roleplaying game community is that they cannot find enough people to play games with. When I first started listening to Party of One, it was as a curiosity. Immediately I was hooked by the enthusiasm and joy Jeff brings to gaming. The variety of games playing on Party of One is just about unmatched in the Actual Playpod-scene, every week a new episode with few repeats of games! He has on a variety of excellent guests and the list is ever-growing for who he will have on soon! Being really honest, Party of One has led me to play more 2 player games. If that isn't a hugely stunning endorsement, I don't know what is.
-
Thrak the CyclopsFun Easy RompOne Hour dosage makes it easy for your average commute. Story-telling and rules are tersely peppered throughout, and the guests seem to have a great time. Great alternative for people who want to learn RPG's, but simpler games.
-
ThatNerdyKevParty On!Jeff is a wonderful storyteller and is putting a spotlight on the world of two player tabletop RPG's.
-
ShiverMeTimbers1Love listening!I love listening to this show! Makes me want to run a two person game every time I listen.
-
RioSafariTight, intimate gameplayThere's something intimate about a gaming 'duet', when two people sit down to craft a role-playing game story. Jeff nails this by tightly framing the system, engaging the player and listeners, and tackling a plethora of genres and personal styles. That's tough. And Party of One has it covered.
-
how is then name takenWere never going to dieThis is a very good gaming show.
-
JesterguyGreat show!I like the format. Sometimes I want to learn about a game, and reviews don't help enough. This is great to get a feel for the flow of a game after checking out the rules. Keep it up!
-
+2 ComedyFunny and to the pointGreat to hear a lets play podcast where the games start and end in one episode. Very funny and great quality.
-
Riverhouse Games TaylorGood Concept! One on one TRPGs in this show! Most AP shows have a full cast but this show explores how games work with just the GM & one player. Interesting perspective on the hobby.
-
Chris BurlewGreat showI love the format, and Jeff does a great job building a story with his guests.
