Priceless advice for the rec player
I’m a recreational player trying to improve my game, and the Rec.Poker podcast is just what I was looking for. My motivation to study increases with each episode. The episode with Gripsed is the best. He delivered an awesome combination of entertainment and education. Rec.Poker should put him on the Rec.ing Crew! I don’t play cash, but imma buying his book. Keep up the great work. Rec.Poker rules! Jack

    So glad I found It!
Recently discovered it and happy I did. Steve does a great job interviewing and talking poker my level (proud to REC). After a few current episodes I am looking forward to checking out the archives! Highly recommended.

    Steve does an amazing job
As a Rec poker player Steve’s commitment is admirable. I may be a little biased as I know and have played against most of the Rec contributors. I enjoy hearing their take on the hand situations and it helps me get insight that I can use the next time we face each other. I find it interesting that each player comes at each decision slightly different. A majority will make the same play but for different reasons. This to me makes the podcast more enjoyable than a couple of pros telling me how it is. Keep up the good work Steve!

    Excellent resource
Having played NLH semi-regularly for the past 12 years (home games and monthly MTTs at the local casino) I find the Rec Poker podcast to be a helpful source of information. I’m not really interested in the interviews or host-centric formats of other poker podcasts. Steve’s format gives me what I need to improve my game (and I have!). My criticism would be that some episodes have too many guests offering their insights on hands and many of them are redundant. A recent episode had 5 rec players and two pros and I found it to be a bit much. Paring it down to a couple rec guests and two or three pros (plus the host) is a manageable amount of information at one sitting. Thanks for what you do, Steve. Much appreciated.

    Great Poker Insight
This podcast is a great resource. Steve does a great job freshening up the format. As a part time player, having the ability to hear thoughts from poker pros and recreational players is very helpful. I typically can take something from each podcast to enhance my thought process at the table. Finally you can't beat the price!

    Great free resource
In the world of poker training options that are either too expensive, too confusing, too focused on stories, or too in-depth, the RecPoker podcast offers free, simple, strategy based information geared at the recreational player. I’m a bit biased (as the host) but believe this fills a nice niche in trying to build the game
