Clip326Great x-men podcastExcellent podcast in which two hosts (Zack and Adam) read and rate three X-Men stories each week. The hosts have a great dynamic with each other, having an entertaining approach. I’ve been a longtime X-Men fan but this has opened up many new stories to explore. Highly recommend.
-
lynxhHilarious X-Men ShowI love the bits and the tangents. I love this podcast. Pro-tip: listen at .75x speed and they sound drunk and its even funnier.
-
FlashFMAGreat concept! Great show!!Was looking for an X-men podcast and found these incredible two guys who are undertaking the daunting task of ranking all of the X-men stories!! I’m joining the fun way late but have started from the beginning to see where all of the stories end up and have found myself making a list of my own of stuff I’ve never even read and I’m a lifelong X-men fan of 30 years!!
-
Get rid of TobDisappointingSadly, this podcast feels like it has gone downhill fast. They barely actually talk about the actual comics anymore, they are too busy trying to force bits
-
Extremely UncannyOne of the top X-men podcastsGreat retrospective of all eras of X-men. Definitely check it out if you are an X-men fan

Scott7787989A chore to produce? This pod used to be so good and I've listened since the beginning, but my goodness does it feel like it’s a chore for one half of the hosting team these days. Whether is half thought out “bits” (your bits are NEVER funny by the way) that drag on way too long - seriously, please don’t use voice filters for that long ever again - or just the plain lack of actual reading and research, it feels like Zack comes to each episode wishing it was already over. If it’s a chore for you to produce, it’s a chore for us to listen. Life can absolutely be stressful, and if it gets to be too much then take a break, but don’t bring the sour attitude into your episodes. Also, no one cares about all of the promo for the website. Save it for the end of the episode only - it’s not why we listen.

TheSquidKingExactly what I was looking forAs of mid-2021, there are at least twenty different X-Men podcasts. Nearly all are reviews of the animated series (and mostly not good) so to find a comic-focused X cast was a bit tough. Happily and luckily for me, the Battle Boys exist. This show kind of bops around at random, but honestly that’s probably better than going sequentially. The rating system is fun if fairly irrelevant overall. I do think the list it produces is pretty cool. This show handles the themes of the X series well and stay funny and friendly as they go. I’m really happy it exists.

Boston GabeCharming and delightfulThe unbridled cheerfulness and positively of this podcast is just what I need to manage my mental illness. From Adam’s soothing voice to Zack’s endless supply of “yes and”, I find it hard to turn this off.
-
asfaahuhkbjbkbjbwUsed to be goodIt went from a podcast about the X-Men to a podcast about what they’re doing on their website pretty rapidly.
-
StealthfartMy Favorite Comic PodcastWhat I really enjoy about this podcast is that even though they’re basically reviewing various X-Men stories, they are also opening up the door for people to read and learn about these characters and the major adventures and storylines that helped define them, as well as their various alternate universe counterparts.

short baby valentineA fantastic x-men podcastI'm a freelance illustrator and i've been blowing through these while I work - super fun, great guests, great commentary and while i'm trying to fill in my gaps and find new things i haven't read yet, these guys provide an awesome round of books each week to check the heck out (or stay far, far away from.) Got me back into longbox digging for those obscure miniseries, and loving every second of it. Give it a listen!
-
ptwheelWhich Weezer album is Nightcrawler’s fave?Had to finally write a review. They artfully wove a discussion of Weezer through a spicy joke at Mr Comic Book Ceb****i’s expense.

Aaaaaaaaaaaa157438841743277832Good bitsThey do good bits and also good rankings
-
SoulReaverDanAdam and Zack are an incredible duoAlways excited for a new episode every Monday! The brief summaries and discussions of the different stories not only provide a great bite-sized version of multiple bits of X-Men history, but have pointed me to stories and series I wouldn’t have checked out otherwise. If you like X-Men, definitely give this series a listen!

undercovertacobellfostering community A++++++These dudes are the real deal. I've always been impressed about how they clearly care very deeply about all things X-men while striving to remain objective in their handling of material--you can just tell they're having a lot of fun talking about X-men. They also do a lot of work in fostering a positive and supportive discussion within the X-men fandom, and it's been super transformative and reflected in the podcast. (Check out #Xtwitter!)

SmallPaulAoCGreat!A really fun podcast with a great backlog to go through. Try it out!

MulletoverlordGreat for doing laborSo turns these guys are uh pretty good at podcasts

tec2030podcast goodi've listened to multiple episodes and its a good podcast

The new objectiveEasily the second best X-podcast ;)A really enjoyable show that gets the most out of its format. Each episode features three comics reviewed and ranked, and benefits from jumping around the now 50+ years of x-continuity (rather than progressing chronologically as arguably the best X-podcast does). The relationship between the hosts is fun, and the show just isn't the same when Adam isn't around. Zach's enthusiasm is palpable and his mispronunciations become really endearing over time. I haven't caught up with the last year or so of episodes, so perhaps this small compaint has been addressed, but it sounds to me like they keep their cell phones on and in too close proximity to their gear when recording, which sometimes created a noticeable distortion, but overall the sound quality is good enough! Keep it up guys.

JVVVJVVJVVJVVVGreat for X-fans and list junkies.I love War Rocket Ajax. Particularly the Every Story Ever portion of their podcast. However, I don't care about DC comics, so half the time I'm tuning out or skipping forward thru certain portions of the program. I was quite happy when discovering Battle of the Atom, because it takes my favorite portion of a great comics podcast and applies it exclusively to the X teams of Marvel comics. It's fun listening to people talk about comics I love (gotta agree to disagree on a few opinions) and also great to get info and recommendations of comics I haven't discovered yet. The hosts are goofy and fun. Adam's more laidback style works well with Zack's slightly manic enthusiasm as the two hosts banter. Keep up the great work and thanks for the podcast! X-men junkies, this podcast is for us!

intrepidtravlerLess survival and more lovin’ the experience. Not sure what it is about these 2 X-Men fans but man! Do they make you wanna jus read X-Men comics everyday.. Since I don’t have the time to go through and find the gems, I’m glad Zack & Adam have, as well as starting this podcast! I enjoy binging and stocking up on episodes. Lots of X-Men knowledge as well as lots of laughs. Thanks gents for always giving me something to look forward to on Monday morning.
-
Jeremy WiggibsAlways funI’ve been reading the X-books since 1990 so I already have plenty of X-Men opinions of my own, and they don’t always line up with Adam & Zack’s takes, but whether they are going on about how much they enjoyed a particular story or complaining about how horrible another is, it is always a good time.
-
Dan WarsThe best podcast for X-men fansThis podcast is great. When I first found out about this podcast earlier this year, I marathoned every episode while at work. It’s great and I eagerly wait for each new episode. A+
-
nightfolkGreat pod you got here boysKeep this up

kuwalkerFantasticWhat a joy to listen to weekly. I was a childhood X-men fan and wanted to get back into the lore about a year ago. I tried to plug into the current issues and follow some of X-men Twitter, but it was this podcast that made me feel like I was truly back in the fandom. The depth of knowledge here is excellent, but it’s the approachability on display from both Zack and Adam that’s the real draw here. These hosts aren’t gatekeepers, they’re greeters. And that is so appreciated. Stellar work here!

Cory (ceb3)Do you remember that time Glob Herman was on fire? There are a number of X-Men podcasts, and even more Marvel comics podcasts in general. But what separates Battle of the Atom is the unrepentant joy it brings to each and every week. Zach and Adam have excellent chemistry, having come to the X-Men at different times and with different tastes; they're adeptly able to tap into the sheer fun that defines (most of) the X-Men's history. They're one of the only podcasts I listen to on a weekly basis, simply because they make enjoying the X-Men more fun with a combination of their abundance of energy, clear and obvious love for the franchise, and their knack for finding quirky X-Men gems I've long forgotten about.
-
BrentCoreyCome for the hot X-Men Arcade jam......stay for the podcast. I really enjoy this show, each episode is brief & succinct, & I really dig the idea of revisiting some classic & modern X-Men stories & seeing how the stack up against each other. Keep up the good work fellas. I posted this eons ago. Sticker? Please???
-
swampy19great showAdam and Zack are part of my monday routine now .Love the list and how i go back down memory lane whenever they talk about a particular issue. PS:I want a sticker 😁
-
Gabriel GarbowA perfect blendA comics podcast that strikes that fine balance between fun and informative, focused yet funny. The rankings, while handled seriously, are more-or-less a pretext for diving into the deep dark corners of the x-men comics catalog ... and showcasing the love these two have for the characters. The hosts’ personalities are delightfully disparate and their backgrounds bring different perspectives to the table.
-
Actual ButtA great way to hear about the history of the X-MenThe hosts are passionate and knowledgeable and bring a ton of fun and personality to the lore and convolution of X-Men history and stories. Great show, always engaging and never boring.
-
WMQ DanBe listeningAppointment listening every #XMenMonday. Zack and Adam are two knowledgeable dudes making a fun podcast and recounting some great (and some not-so-great) X-Men stories. Learn which X-Men vape and why Chris Bachalo is the GOAT.
-
Austin GortonFresh & FunThis is a fresh & fun take on comic book analysis, combining the internet’s penchant for listing & rankings things with the hosts’ genuine affection for the X-Men. Their approach highlights the sweeping & expansive nature of the franchise in terms of both its quality & quantity, in the process offering a “something for everyone” approach which, when combined with the hosts’ affection for the material in general, keeps the audience engaged even if a particular story or creative run being discussed isn’t a personal favorite.
-
bayareacomicfanX-men applied to real lifeI enjoy the show. Although I always cringe at the religious hosts, knowing stories about purifiers, the mutant cure, families disowning their children at the discovery that they are a mutant, hits home in a lot of ways for an LGBTQ person. It’s an unavoidable reality that is almost impossible to ignore.
-
ThepariaheffectEntertaining and informative. With hundreds of issues, it’s a real undertaking to read everything that featured the X-Men. Thankfully, this podcast makes things easier by ranking it all. Definitely worth subscribing for even casual fans.
-
yeesh?Very Good ShowNeeds more Gambit
-
Erikck03884Sorry Jay & MilesThis is my new favorite X-Men podcast
-
Pat BricksonIf you love lists and you love X-Men...This is the podcast for you! I really do love “Jay and Miles X-plain the X-Men” but it is waaayyy deep, issue by issue. This podcast breaks down the various X title by story arch and ranks them. Far more digestible and very actionable. Pair this with Marvel Unlimited and you can get some great stories to read without having to slog through the lesser material.
-
X-BricksX-trordinaryThe announcement of each episdode of Battle of the Atom is really the highlight of my week. Adam and Zack dive into everything X-Men related, from timeless classics to remarkably obscure storylines hidden in the murky shadows of the 90's and early 2000's. It's a pleasure to hear them explore the good, the bad, and "The Draco" of this sprawling, fifty-plus-years-old franchise. The format of this show makes it really accessible, because you can basically jump on at any point. Also, the occasional creator interviews provide insightful views of the comic book industry. Entertaining, educational, and funny, this podcast is full of heart and guaranteed to please long-time X-fans and newcomers alike, even if the "Wolverine and the X-Men" storyline where Logan and Quentin Quire go to "Space Vegas" should be above "Avengers vs X-Men". WHY WOULD YOU GUYS DO THAT?!? WHY?!? Just kidding, this podcast is pretty rad, so you should go listen to it.
-
SirgonWhy aren’t you listening yet?Easily my favorite X-Men related podcast. The two hosts have so much charisma and chemistry that actually makes me look forward to Monday’s. If you wanted to listen to two people talk about X-Men, this is the place.
-
SonicfirestormCan’t recommend this enoughThis podcast is phenomenal. It’s two people just talking about X-Men comics (good AND bad) and it’s such a blast to listen to every week. I’ve had so much fun listening to it and it’s been one of the bigger reasons I got back into reading comics again.
-
TrevorAtTiffany'sThis show helped me learn X-Men!I'm a relatively new fan of the X-Men and listening to this show has not only given me little crash courses on X-History through their brief synopses of stories, but helped me narrow down which things I want to read and which I know I can stay away from. They have really great banter that feels fun without being overwhelming. Great for listening at work!
-
PolarFoxNDMore Marvel Guest Interviews!Really loved your Jordan D. White interview. Keep the momentum going by connecting the creators with the community. Thanks!
-
Drew from DenverI do love listsVery cool x-men centric podcast. Love to hear folks talk about the comics I love and see different parts of my own fandom in both hosts. But to be honest I am a total mark for X-Factor:examinations! Keep up the great work guys
-
GerardoemtAstonishingAstonishing, amazing, informative. My favorite podcast.
-
GeneticghostGreat X-Men podcast for new and old readers alikeLove the tone of this show! Zack and Adam really know what they are talking about here and the succint takes on the issues they cover has really hit its stride. Love the ratings so far and the mix of old and new continuity that is covered here! Give this podcast a listen!
