I believe that that’s what you had in your podcast. The NC State Ice Pack are a worthy opponent. I think maybe next time you should give them the respect they deserve when make predictions. I do like your podcast a lot. I am a Carolina hurricane Fan. I was an NC State fan before I was a hurricanes fan. Who won the game again? That’s right NC State won!

Mike and Shane are homers. The Hurricanes can do no wrong according to these two. The Canes fans apparently don’t know anything, it would seem. Once Mike and Shane start answering listener questions, the show becomes unworthy of listening as they answer every insufferable question. For real Hurricanes insider information, listen to Canes Corner and/or Adam Gold’s podcasts.

Hey great show for hard core fans. Just a suggestion though- I get that people on the internet vent frustration and freak out on the team. Sometimes I think it’s real, other times I think they are just trying to humorous. Sometimes I agree it is down right mean. But here’s the suggestion: My personal take is that sometimes you’re venting your frustration too on the fans. If you’re going to defend a position such as “every player is going to go through a slump” please do so more consistently in a manner that affirms the listener’s concerns. Do you know someone’s comment isn’t out of just hockey ignorance? Anyway, maybe I’m being too sensitive but when I think the tone leans in a direction that fans are frustrating the podcasters, I honestly just skip the episode.

Hey guys, I love the podcast as always. I’ve listened to nearly all 271 episodes. Any way to bring back email questions though? I think of questions sometimes, but I don’t really wanna create a Twitter account just to send questions because of the absolute insanity of social media.

Boys been kinda quiet here recently need some hot takes on the team moving forward through the season. Trades ? Svech injury issues ? Rough start for the boys to say the least. Will we make the playoffs?

What’s great about this podcast, is that it’s not just a regurgitation of stats and facts that are known. A little insight and A LOT of Anchorman quotes.

Shane’s audio is higher than Mike’s. Hear clearly Shane but Mike not so much.

Thanks for taking the time to bring us the insights on the team and players. The only complaint is Mike can you do something to balance the Mike levels? You’re always low and Shane is booming! I’m constantly adjusting the volume up to hear you then get blown out when Shane speaks. Keep up all the great content!!! GO CANES!!!

Best canes podcast there is! Some constructive criticism though: Please for the love of Jarvis, get better mics or hire a sound guy. Almost every episode has Mike’s audio barely audible while Shanes is loud and clear or vise versa. Everything else is phenomenal! Keep it up.

Love the podcast but most episodes the audio is out of balance. Shane’s mic is 2-3 times louder than Mike’s.

Sometimes I do not have enough time to catch all the news so they help me get back up to date. Mike and Shane are the perfect duo.

This podcast is a must hear! Shane and Mike banter easily back and forth. They both provide back stories, discuss recent games, and lay it all out in an informative and knowledgeable fashion. They dispel inaccurate information gently. I’ve learned more about hockey as they dispense their first hand experience and years of talent. Thanks guys, you’re doing an outstanding job.

If you’re a fan of the Canes in any capacity, this is a must-listen podcast! Mike and Shane’s experience working for Bally translates very well to the podcasting sphere; their chemistry on each episode is apparent, the topics covered are very much relevant to the Canes and the NHL as a whole, and the info is presented in a very engaging way! There’s a lighthearted and laid-back tone that’s very fun to experience as it (understandably) is much more formal and serious on the game broadcasts!

If you’re a Canes fan, this is the show to keep up with. Plenty of interviews with top hockey minds and personalities, weekly updates on the happenings in Canes world, and great insight from 2 people who are at the center of it all.

Good podcast. Good material. A little too on the “homerish” side of things at times. Not sure if it’s because they’re afraid to criticize and poke the bear or what, but all in all, worth a listen.

Great analysis

1. As serious as the competition is, we need to remember that hockey is a game, and games - and talking about games - should be fun… and you can tell Mike & Shane (and Michael before him) have FUN talking about it and doing what they do. 2. The show is meant to uplift and encourage. They’re truthful about things if games don’t go well, but they know there are *people* behind those pads and behind the bench - and they know they’re doing their level best to compete. 3. The hosts are VERY knowledgeable about hockey, the players, and the Canes as an organization. The listener gets insider views to whatever extent they can talk about them. 4. Want to hear the voices of people who absolutely love what they do? Listen. The enthusiasm in their voices is readily apparent (and maybe it even rubs off). 5. The hosts do a great job of integrating fans’ questions and perspectives … very cool interactions mediated by The Bird Machine.

Now I may be a bit biased as a newer canes fan. But this is one of the better podcasts I’ve listened to! I look forward every week to their episodes release and wish I could listen to them more!

I’m a biased Canes fan but as one I’m glad we have this to look forward to every week. Michael and Mike ( or is it Mike and Michael?) have great chemistry, a thorough understanding of the sport and the team, and manage to perfectly balance information and humor. It’s the fastest 90 minute podcast out there - if you are a Canes fan. If you are a hockey fan you should check it out.

Local team podcast that I enjoy listening to. 5 stars if you just had fewer little sound clips and maybe some better stormbrew ad reads. I get it. It’s crispy.

This is my go to for Canes related conversations & my family enjoys listening too. They seem like the type of people you just want to grab a beer with & talk about hockey, basketball, football or baseball.

I love listening to Michael and Mike talk about the canes weekly. Canescast is the easiest way to keep up to date with news surrounding the team. The guys always have guests that are relevant and provide interesting insights into the canes. Simply, I’d share a storm brew with these guys.

Probably my favorite Canes-related hockey podcast, definitely makes the top 3. Doing this for beer for a year.

What a great podcast to stay informed about the Canes. The way Mike and Michael interact with one another feels like you’re just casually chatting with your best friends over a few storm brews. It’s so easy to listen to. And while this is a Canes podcast, these two talk about more than just hockey but life as well. If you’re a die-hard fan or new to hockey, this is a must-listen pod.

This podcast delivers awesome insight into the front office operations of the best team in the NHL. Michael and Mike are two of the best at what they do. It is an absolute treat to hear what they have to say, as well as what their guests have to say. As a relatively new hockey fan, I simply can’t get enough of the Canes Cast. The episode where the guys interview Mike Sundheim is my personal favorite. I’ve looked up to Mike for a while and loved hearing his insight on what he does for the organization and how he got to where he is today. Interviews like these give a sort of optimism rarely found in the sports communication landscape. Great content. Great hosts. Great Guests. Go Canes.

Look forward to this podcast every week. Michael and Mike provide a perfect balance of nuts and bolts hockey talk without taking themselves too seriously. It’s hard to find light-hearted sports talk, and these guys nail it.

Listening to the web’s Michael Smith and tv’s Mike Maniscalco is a weekly ritual for me. CanesCast provides a weekly update about all things Carolina Hurricanes! Although the podcast is a Canes focused show they do not dive into unrealistic aspirations, the two present information in a way that highlights the positives of the team and organization but recognizes there is always room for improvement. CanesCast is always entertaining and will cover topics outside of the world of hockey, they’ll talk about movies, tv, and food (goodbye Bill Burniston). If you like hockey, even if you are not a Canes fan, this should be on your list of podcasts to listen to! Thank you for reading, moi moi.

Fun podcast to listen to! Started listening earlier this year and have enjoyed the content during a year with limited hockey to watch.

The real Mike and Mike bring passion and enthusiasm for the Carolina Hurricanes (with a little pop culture and food thrown in). A must-listen for hockey fans in the Carolinas.
