Cate31-2Great topics and speakers despite narration feeling juvenileI enjoy the guest perspectives tremendously. Trying for helpful feedback here- the narration feels oddly repetitive and not adding value. I think the intention is to summarize but at times results in a cringey restating that doesn’t help to further the story much. My unsolicited advice, would be to assume the listener understood the guest’s explanation the first time and wait until close to the end to summarize key concepts.

Karen_CSLBEST PODCAST OUT THERESuper informative and entertaining, while extremely captivating. Would recommend always.
-
John_F_Best presented policy podcastMaybe the best presented policy podcast. For not one but two reasons: Soumaya and Chad. Ok, also it has great, detailed content that is very well researched. Caveat: you need to be into trade, but who isn’t these days? Other policy podcasts could learn a lot here, in more ways than one...

Frankv42Stephen VaughnI had stopped listening for a while due to weariness with your simplistic and fruitless “solutions” to trade imbalances and theft (yet more consultations and the WTO). I truly enjoyed someone finally balancing your one-sided views. Her condescending comments on Trump and his supporters was laid bare. US voters chose him for a change of direction, too bad it doesn’t fit your ideas. I have a Masters in International Business and managed a US company in China for 13 years. I would listen more if you have more guests like Mr. Vaughn.

Jets JohnsonInformative and entertaining.Soumaya and Chad make a prefect podcast team. They have lively and entertaining delivery. They pepper this information packed program with a fresh amount of dry humor and entertaining back and forth dialogue. They have really opened my eyes to the history, dynamics and fluid impact of trade on the world economy and international relations. Highly recommend you give it a try!
-

Rafael Dix-CarneiroGreat resource!I teach and conduct research on issues related to International Trade. I learned a lot listening to Trade Talks over these past months. It is a GREAT and easy way to stay up to date with the issues that are being discussed in the trade arena, both in terms of the research that is being done, but also the policy discussions that are being carried out. I will be definitely using Trade Talks as a resource in my International Trade course that I will be teaching at Duke in the Spring. Many thanks Chad and Soumaya for such a great resource!
-
WaldarListenA timely and well done weekly podcast. Whether you are an expert, a trade student or just curious what all the fuss is about, these are 20 minutes well spent. A word of caution, though: you might turn into a trade geek.

-
Summerbug TalksEverything you need from the BEST!Crisp, modern and informative talks on the trade topics of today. Thanks to Soumaya and Chad for making the issues in global trade today understandable and a great listen. Giving the history for each issue is especially helpful and interesting. Hoping for future episodes on NAFTA (negotiations?) and TPP-## (how much is the US missing out?). Overall, a great top quality podcast! Highly recommended!
-
BensonelNon-wonky trade analysisThis podcast is great for people trying to get a better, deeper grasp on headline trade news. The vocabulary and level of detail make it easy to listen to--this is a policy podcast even my mom could understand! However, if you have existing knowledge of US and international trade policy, this podcast is helpful in that it provides timely updates on matters like vacancies on appellate courts at the WTO, and it also provides great refreshers on certain resurfacing policy instruments such as 301, 201, and 232 investigations.
-
CBP EmplyeeA Must ListenExcellent and accessible for anyone interested in understanding international trade.
-
FouadPGreat podcast!Really informative discussions of trade issues, but done in a way that both experts and folks without an econ or political science degree can understand. The hosts are great, funny, and bring great energy to each episode. Easily one of my favorite podcasts.
-
A ChiltonInforming & EntertainingI teach international trade law, and I would recommend this podcast to anyone that would like to learn about the economic forces that are currently shaping the world. Chad and Soumaya make complex issues come to life, and will leave you with a better understanding of what's going on in the world. I look forward to this podcast every week.

JEM4512Excellent!Always excited to find fun and interesting new podcasts! They keep a dense topic approachable
-
Wes173Excellent for general public, students and academicsThis podcast is hosted by the economics and trade correspondent from The Economist and an academic expert in international trade who has a lot of policy experience. The podcast covers current trade policy issues that are bubbling around in the media. It is accessible to a general audience without any background in international trade because the hosts make sure to give the background information and details rather than jumping into a dense economic analysis of the issue. This makes it great for students and I have my undergraduate students give class presentations on these podcasts. And, as an academic international trade economist myself, I also find that the podcasts provide an extremely useful and interesting snapshot of the issue being discussed.
-
alex7woodFinally!!!I have been waiting for a podcast like this to come out about current events regarding trade! The episodes are informative and short. I was worried that something like this would come along and that it would be a two-hour marathon. The dialogue between the two speakers is great. The only suggestion I have is it would be cool if you could do a second weekly podcast that focuses on WTO cases. I think it would be interesting to mention a few of the important ones and how they were resolved, the impacts they had on the the current dispute resolution system and how the the system is changing or should change to meet the requirements for an increasingly globalized world (*cough*what's going on with Doha?*cough*). You could also mention cases that are initiated or concluded as they come. Too nerdy? I think it's a great platform for quick updates and to generate more public awareness. Bringing on guest speakers from other think tanks could also be interesting to get their takes on events as they happen.
-
Ben LiebmanEconomics ProfessorThis is an excellent resource for anyone who wants to better understand current debates in International Trade. Couldn't come at better time, when trade controversies are front and center in the news. Entertaining and engaging, I'm really looking forward to playing this to my students in my International Trade class. But even if you're not studying Trade, this will be a fun way to better understand trade issues that may have have always seemed a bit fuzzy and opaque. Enyoy!
-
SC_atlStraight talk from experts + entertaining and currentThis podcast is excellent and it couldn't come at a more important time. The podcast hosts are academic experts who also have practicioner experience. They're also easy to listen to, straightforward, and honest. The hosts strike a nice balance between current events, relevant historical background, findings from economics research, and their own experience. This is going into my regular podcast rotation.
