Okay, I’m totally new-ish to Calligraphy! So naturally, I binge listened to this whole podcast! This podcast has all the gems to get started with calligraphy. And, after listening, I feel like a have good feet under me to get going! I am proud to say that I now KNOW without a doubt that Calligraphy is going to be the art I want to master moving forward- I was on the fence and now I’m certain. I started with Business Penmanship but will be moving to Engravers or spencerian next. Oh, and I will be attending the 2025 IAMPETH conference thanks to our host’s positive endorsement of it! I highly recommend this podcast for anyone who needs to know how to get started with calligraphy… and have a good time with knowledgeable host like Christen and Ajab!

I adore this podcast! As I’m a beginner trying to figure things out, these two lovely ladies make me feel like I have two new calligra-friends with me on this journey. They are encouraging, funny, and interview some wonderful guests. I treat an episode like an audio calligraphy warmup before I start some oval drills. Love it!

Any questions I’ve ever had about calligraphy, inks, different hands, and all the humor highlighting the things that can (and will) eventually go wrong! I made sure to mention. I can’t say enough how this podcast brings me so much joy. Love talking about the birds from M. Sull class as my birds are lop sided, crooked and unable to perch anywhere. But seriously, thanks for talking to the Who’s who of the Calligraphy world and bring them their stories. These masters have learned it from someone and pay it forward to the next. By the third season, these ladies keep getting even better, more confident, and a joy to listen.

You ladies are doing an awesome job. I especially liked your interview with Sarah Richardson. The topic of cursing was brought up on the episode and a couple of things had to be beeped out. While you have the freedom to use whatever words you choose always remember that cursing is to speech what ink blobs are to calligraphy.

It was hard for me to imagine that a podcast about such a visual art could be good, but these ladies are killing it! I am a calligrapher with 10+ years of experience and I learn something new with each episode. I’m so glad the Calligraphy Podcast connects me with others who share the love for this art.

I’ve been listening to The Calligraphy Podcast for several months now—long enough to feel like Christen and Ajab are friends I’ve enjoyed but not had the pleasure to meet yet. I just want to jump in and talk to you about this wonderful world of calligraphy!

I first heard about it from a Paper and Ink Arts post, listened to the most recent then started at the beginning and enjoyed every one. I am a hobbyist so not every topic is totally relevant but I have learned something really great from every episode. I highly reccoments it

Christen and Ajab do an excellent job of addressing many of the pitfalls we all experience with calligraphy. They also motivate me to just go pick up my pen and start lettering! I was so frustrated with my calligraphy and nibs. I’ve been doing copperplate for 6 months and couldn’t figure out why my ink wasn’t flowing down the nib right. THEN on one episode they mentioned cleaning the nibs before use. (Duh🤦‍♀️) My writing is so much better now!! They are fun to listen to and have so much valuable information that I never would have found without them. Thanks ladies!!

I love the frankness and informative format that Christen and Ajab bring to this podcast! They make calligraphy accessible and less intimidating for the beginners, and also have golden nuggets for the more experienced penmen. I feel like I’m at a calligraphy sleepover and we are all just hanging out and chatting about what we love!

I am so thankful I found this podcast! I am mostly self-taught (or youtube taught!) and hearing common experiences and problems discussed helps me tremendously! The tips are great, but the best thing for me is the encouraging and real attitude of these down-to-earth hosts. I am encouraged and helped in this great craft!!

This pod cast is really great for beginners and experienced alike. I wish this was available when I started. There is a wonderful rapport between Ajab and Christen and although they just started the podcast you’d think they’ve done it for years. I highly recommend.
