The Neon Streets

10

The Neon Streets is an actual play podcast set in a cyberpunk dystopia using the FATE RPG system. We work hard to make the system and our show accessible to anyone, even those with no TTRPG experience! Join us three friends as we navigate our characters through the dangerous streets of The Big Gulp, battling corrupt mega-corporations and rival gangs in this high-stakes world. Whether you're a fan of FATE, DnD 5E, Pathfinder, or any other tabletop RPGs, there's something here for everyone. Our gameplay focuses heavily on comedic storytelling and immersive role-playing, going much lighter on number crunching/dice rolling. Listen in as our characters make tough decisions in a deep world with memorable stories. Our second series: BurgerCorp Blues is coming very soon!

    Very visual
Entertaining stuff. I like they walk thru mechanics of the rp system and flow pretty naturally between negotiating those mechanics and play. Story goes a lot of weird places organically.

    Fantastic!
It’s rare you find an actual play podcast that feels so polished and fun straight out the gate, but The Neon Streets is great from Episode 1. It has the perfect mix of excellent chemistry, humor, and slightly-controlled chaos that results in some truly memorable moments. Hats off to the cast!

    Fast paced and hilarious!
Really enjoying this actualplay. Great Cyberpunk setting, the characters are fun and engaging, and the GM is really putting in the work! Highlights the FATE system without getting bogged down. Audio quality is fantastic and the addition of music in strategic places is really fun. The interplay of the characters is genuinely funny, I find myself laughing out loud pretty often. But there ARE some genuinely serious and effecting moments, too. Definitely deserves a larger audience than it has now.

    Six Hits
Neon Streets is the rarest of the rare: an exciting cyberpunk actual play FATE podcast that is as hilarious as it is gritty, populated with dozens of unique, crazy NPCs, gripping storylines, and vibrant, interesting player characters who complement each other’s personality and skill set perfectly--the Odd Couple of cyberspace. Earnest, inquisitive lizard man Test is the perfect foil for console cowboy Dizzy’s unhinged, jaded persona. Neon Streets is outrageously creative, extremely entertaining, and perfectly paced; character interactions and development enhances each fight or action sequence and drives the story forward without dragging it down. Fights and action sequences, DM narrations, and character interactions all come together in the perfect amounts to form one of the best actual play podcasts out there. The quality of the sound production is really high: edits are seamless and practically invisible, the music is awesome and mixed perfectly, and the sound quality in general is so, so good. It’s the podcast I didn’t know I needed and now can’t live without.

Great actual play and great example of Fate
I love the characters, story, and the jokes. I’ve learned a lot about how to run Fate well. Inspired me to run more Fate games.

Look Out For Those Neon Meanies
These three are idiots in the best possible way. This show is funny, but beyond that, it scratches all your cyberpunk itches. Good stuff!

    So well done!
This show is an amazing actual play of Fate Core. The guys are great at role playing and very funny as well. Not only that, the music and ambience makes the show even more fun!
