Just discovered this show this week so I’m catching up but the hosts have so much knowledge and demonstrate a genuine interest and love for movies and the Oscars.

While I appreciate their perspective, for a topic so fun these hosts have zero chemistry and seem just so terribly bored by their jobs.

I love discovering new film and awards podcasts. Sophia and Nick make a great duo. I am always impressed with the depth of knowledge of film history. I have a little soft spot for Sophia. Her love of the films from the 70’s, what I consider the greatest decade in cinema as well. We also share a common love for Faye Dunaway, Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Daniel Day Lewis, Altman, Scorsese, and PTA. Keep up the great work.

When I listen to this podcast I’m in pure movie bliss! And now, I’m not alone in my love for the 70’s. And you just did Chinatown!!!! My all time fav

This podcast is incredibly fun, organized, and purpose-driven with emphases on history and current events and how the two connect. Sophia and Nick have excellent chemistry. They bring their knowledge and analysis forth in ways that demonstrate that to educate is also to spread enjoyment for your audience. I enjoy hearing about their adventures on the way to screenings, during screenings, and after screenings, whether that be festivals or individual films on any given day. Their original, recurring segments and episode structure are a delight. Again, Sophia and Nick have great chemistry, and I love how it plays out when they discuss, agree, disagree, and share insights and ideas both individually and jointly throughout each season.

Which I didn’t think was possible

Both for being so knowledgeable and respectful and also for having 2 of the best podcast voices around.

Many podcasts focus on the hullabaloo surrounding a film instead of considering it thoughtfully. Oscar Wilde would be proud that the creators of the namesake podcast are simultaneously informative, concise, articulate and funny.

It is so refreshing to hear people discuss the movies in a way that is so generous and thoughtful. So many awards podcasts are smug and everything they say is boilerplate it’s great to hear from people who are so passionate (and also sound nice) who have formed their own opinions. Their love of film is palpable and their taste is omnivorous. It really makes me more passionate and excited about movies.

Just started dipping into this podcast and am enjoying the knowledge, rapport and understated humor of the hosts and guests. Sophia’s voice is so calming and clear, love her insights as well!

Sophia is so thorough and detailed and I really enjoy listening to her. I know Nick is still catching up on his film education but I appreciate the progress he has made and thoughtful commentary. Nonetheless a very good listen.

This podcast brings me so much joy. I tend to only listen to movie podcasts and this one is so great—Sophia and Nick make you feel like you’re joining your two best friends in conversation. Always fun and entertaining!

Dear Oscar Wild, It’s hard not to be romantic about movies. In a time when it feels dire for the state of cinema. When it feels like true film discussion, criticism, and analysis is lost forever. There are more Oscar podcasts out there than ever before, but Oscar Wild remains one of the best. Sophia and Nick are charismatic hosts who put in the work and each have their own well-informed opinions. I’ve been lucky enough to be on Oscar Wild a few times and it’s always a joy. Keep it up!
