JamorseI'm so happy this existsIm a huge fan of the Warhammer Fantasy universe, mostly through Gotrek and Felix novels. Once Id read all of those (twice) and playing vermintide 2 wasnt cutting it i needed more Warhammer.... and so i bought the WFRP books (im a forever GM) and found this podcast. the PCN people are so fun and between the players and dan they do such an amazing job of channeling the world of warhammer, both the silliness and the grim darkness that looms over every decision the players make, whether it's to eat that extra pie or lie to the guards... again. Im only on ep 39 but so far every character shines, Mina especially with the best character voice and way of a speech i've heard in an actual play (ive lawled so many times), but of course there's lucky's charming chaos, carl's aggressive innocence and sense of honor, and bruno the hilariously crooked glutton who's still loyal to a fault. Thanks for making this podcast exist!

PhotoQueen34Nothing Has Made Me HappierThan some of the great moments in this show, Dan and JB have an incredible Bad GM and Bad Player, relationship. Dani and Tim started as antagonists to each other but in later episode are the only two trying to move forward the plot. Character development for some of the characters has been awesome, less so for others (Bruno). Also heard Elite 8 Showdown is finally coming back and as E8S is the show that turned me onto GPOPA in the first place…. As the title states nothing has me happier.

darkerdrickWorth a giggle now and then10 episodes in and the worst thing I can say is that the GM lets the players (especially Lucky) get away with murder too often by not challenging them to make rolls when they have dumb ideas/blatantly lie to people, especially regarding magic (which people are generally suspicious of). Then again, sometimes it’s hard to put all the blame on the GM when the PCs all act like they ride the short bus (still not sure why two of them continually talk like cavemen) … but that’s classic PC behavior, really. So maybe less “grim and perilous” and more “dim but (sometimes) hilarious”. Not gonna teach someone how to properly play WFRP, but it’s worth an occasional chuckle when someone finally gets punished for their actions!

CupboardKoboldWho will save us?!?The Empire's in its darkest hour, shadows grow long and magic winds sour. A plot of treason and sin, a hidden menace lurks within. 4 heroes rise up to solve the mystery, delving deep into the Empire's history. Where will it take us? Nobody knows! Let's hope our 4 heroes can stay on their toes… Killing Chaos lords, burning witches, slaying beastmen hoards and reveling in the cries of joy and praise which seek to celebrate…better heroes than this lot. Tune into GPOPA as our “heroes” are run over by wagons, barely manage to survive walking up and down stairs without passing out, literally lick each others wounds, listen to the wise quacks of a magic duck, and constantly avoid the gun of their captain who doesn’t even know how guns work… GPOPA has everything you could want in an actual play as you question just how this ragtag group of players survive the weighted rolls and biased rules of their “terrible” GM Dan as they laugh the night away, making the Old World just a little less grim and perilous.

HailroboniaEntertaining, exciting, and educational!I generally don’t like live actual play podcasts because they tend to run really long. This podcast however is just the right length and has great pacing. The players and their characters are hilarious too. The “educational” part is because I’ve learned not just more about the rules and lore of WHFR but also words says “salubrious”

Distant AuthorAn actual play podcast that makes you feel like you're right thereI found this podcast while looking for a WFRP actual play to help me learn the game and the Enemy Within campaign specifically, unfortunately due to Ben's bad GMing, I have not learned much. What I have learned after 180 episodes is that this group of fast friends is definitely worth a listen. Listening to this podcast not only rekindled my love of Gaming but has also resulted multiple times in me trying (and failing) not to burst out laughing in a number of inappropriate places, such as Federal government offices and while my spouse is trying to sleep (I absolutely lost it any time Carl decided to throw a rock). I love all the characters and how they've grown, such as Mina's growth from town guard to righteous warrior for Sigmar. Lucky's growth from naive kid to a "wizard" of the people. And Bruno's growth from bumbling but lovable oaf to the Eric Cartman of the group. You guys have convinced me to sign up for a Patreon for the first ever. As a native Upstate New Yorker you're doing us all proud except that one episode where you slandered the Garbage Plate. I'll see y'all on the Discord. (P.S. Ben, you're actually a great GM)

MHippleNot A Paid AdvertisementKudos to the GPOPA crew for introducing me to BuiltBar. Yes - I greatly appreciate the natural group chemistry, the dynamic roleplay, and the committment to adding color and character to an already rich world. However, BuiltBar's high protein, low calories, respectable fiber levels, and gooey candybar-like texture really shines over an already great media product.

BuffaloSpinshotExPaxisAn engaging listenI am up to eposode 35. Things, as always do not look good for our protagonists. I woudl say heroes, but I also wish to include Lucky and Mina. I really like Bruno the best so far but I enjoy all of the characters. Dan does a great job as GM. The players are absolutely engaging. I just subscribed on Patreon anincludes. I am looking forward to the additional content that such a subscription provides. A phenomenally high recommendation and listening got me prepared to conduct my 1st session as GM.

MorningCricketsBest Actual Play TTRPG Podcast AroundThis is by far the best actual play podcast I’ve listened to. The players are fantastic, the banter is great, and the podcast is well-produced. I can honestly tell you that I’ve never been entertained more as I listened to a group of adventurers buy medieval sweatpants, clothing for ducks, various hats, a 2nd pair of sweatpants, and several forms of IDs. It’s like I grabbed my best friends and took them to Target and the DMV with me! If that sounds like fun to you, I recommend you try it out as you won’t be disappointed. Bonus laughs for every time the party had to carry a 400lb dead weight around from combat to combat. Absolutely hilarious, and feels as close as being at the table as can be.

Ponie_DanzaPodcast Be Bussin! FR! No Cap!!Yo fam if you looking for a bussin ‘cast that gone pass tha vibe check then I got you! Elite 8 Showdown be bussin fr. Hosts Tim and Big Chuck be throwin it down each week with a straight savage elimination. Tim and Chuck be vibing better than the floss dance on Fortnite. Ion know whut Dans problem is tho he be wildin on Chuck. Def not vibin. No cap Edit: Since I can’t in good faith recommend Elite 8 Showdown any longer due to Big Chuck becoming an astronaut and going to live on a farm with all the other astronauts and not having time to record the podcast any longer since he’s saving the world from asteroids and rogue spy satellites, I’m changing my review. Im still leaving it five stars but I’m saying go check out Comic Book Rundown staring Jon and Roe! They talk about comics books, and sometimes movies that are loosely based off comic books like the marvel movies. Tons of good nerd stuff to be had. Not bad nerd stuff like sitting around and playing table top rpgs recording it. Anyways go check out the. Comic Book Rundown with hosts Joe and Mike only on available on various podcasting platforms

Sobase3Sooo F’in GoodThis podcast is awesome! I discovered it about two weeks ago. I’m about a third of the way through. The chemistry is nothing shy of amazing. It’s such a great blend of the grim nature of warhammer and absurdly funny at the same time. I’m dreading the day I get caught up and can’t binge five episodes on my day off. Keep up the great work!

Duffington IV“Should I Stay Or Should I Kill Bruno?”Fantasy? Check. Warhammer-y Goodness? Check. Laughter followed immediately by scratching my head due to the pure moronic goodness? Double Check! After starting this wonderful podcast and running though 129 hours of it in two months, I finally have decided to sit down and share my musings of this sweet puppy. What can only be described to the uninitiated as a story about a powerful evil working from the shadows, plotting to destroy the Old World as we know it and our best hope is a group so bad they might be just what we need to save the day…but who am I kidding? Its more like if the Avengers had a backup team who knew a guy who owns and operates a small chain of falafel places who happens to sponsor a kids’ baseball team who has a few kids on the bench who didn’t have anything going on this weekend so they could go and help. Yeah…more like that. Comprised of an inbred wizard, Lucky, who is a mix of “fake it till you make it” and that one kid on the school bus who’s dad could take on all of your dads, Bruno, an off-broadway one-man-show depicting all the personalities of The Three Stooges at once, Mina, a soldier/witch hunter who can be summarized as the “this one time, at Uncle Chet camp…” and then she stabs, Carl, the emotionally abused by his fat best friend conscious of the group, and now Mammoth, if Tarzan was less raised by apes and more killed everything to show he is the king of the jungle. Every week you will have the chance to listen in and wonder when they all will realize the key was not in fact friendship but rather killing Bruno who was the big bad guy the entire time. This rag tag bunch of hooligans team up and go on adventures the likes of which have been wrangled by Dan, the once great GM, whose sanity can be heard slowly slipping every week over the course of 129 hours of herding this group of deranged cats together. So pretty much it can all be summarized as an okay commercial in the form of a podcast for “the Elite Eight Showdown.” *Post Script: not for those who aren’t into soft-core duck stuff…

Paycheck StevensMaybe I Should Join the DiscordI started this podcast late in June 2022 to try and learn how to GM a game I had never played before but was very interested in. I am now caught up after finishing episode 126. A few handy tips I have learned to help when I GM: 1) Always say math is hard when trying to buy time as the GM 2) If players are consulting you or asking important questions, keep the suspense up by completely forgetting what they said or ignoring them if they take longer than a few seconds to get the point across. 3) Slowly nerf the players' characters and claim that the publishers of the system have released "new content" to shift the blame. 4) Ducks can never be combatants under any circumstances. Apparently if I follow these steps, no matter how bad of a GM I might be, my friends and I will have a ton of fun. I doubt we will be able to compete with the most bingeable podcast on Earth though. Thanks for the hours of laughs, and reminding me of my days around a table with friends in college. Dan, you might be a bad GM, but a few of the brief stories you have told really inspired me to be as cool of a Dad for my little girl as you seem to be!

jss87usmcsf5Return to the Grim WH worldI played the first edition of WFRP a lot back in the early 2000’s. I recently started getting back into it when I heard about the 4th edition. I tried some other live play podcasts to see what the new version was like. They were all kind of boring. But your podcast is exciting, funny, and entertaining. Sounds like the Warhammer I am used to. Keep up the good work.

bloodgutsandgoreFantasticThis is the first review of a podcast I’ve ever done. I love what you guys are doing. Rules might not always be spot-on, but I like how you roll with it rather than stop the game flow. I was doing a lot of solo driving during COVID and this show helped keep me sane. Keep up the good work!

Radar726Don't Need Supernumerate for Five StarsThe folks that do A Grim Podcast of Perilous Adventure are amazing. In an internet filled with fakeness and edited content, they are as real as it gets. Nothing feels rehearsed or gimmicky. Every episode is a thing of greatness that should be shared with other gamers. They have some serious fun even if it’s filling the air with sadness at the death of an NPC that their characters barely know. . Their characters have serious character, and listening to them is like soup for the soul, proving that laughter is truly the best medicine. My daughter and I have gone through some troubling times the last couple of years but this show reminds me of my teenage days having fun playing Warhammer and Cyberpunk. Which puts a smile on my face that I don’t have all that often. But be warned; listening to this podcast is going to make you wax nostalgic for those days around a wooden table littered with soda cans, half eaten chip bags, and cold pizza. Dice scattered around the game master's screen as everyone has a blast until the sun cuts through the curtains and someone exclaims, “Oh crap, I have to get to work!”

Rex_1945Best Role Playing Show I knowThis show is amazing! Full of excitement, hilarity, and events worth praising. Bestow the show a mighty try, especially before everyone has to die. I listen to this podcast, morning, day, and night, making me feel just quite right. Unfortunately there is a little bit of profanity, but that often comes with human insanity. I hope that you continue on, And praise God from here and on

KickdoutfothehoodI love Elite 8 ShowdownIf you love tournaments, 8 things, and two yelling at each otherThen you want to check out elite 8 showdown

CliffKMA Grim Podcast of Hilarious AdventureI was looking to get a feel for WFRP and The Enemy Within before running them. Turns out, this podcast is one of the most enjoyable actual plays of any kind I've found. The players manage a perfect balance between perilous and hilarious. They bring the game to life with solid voice acting, great roleplaying, and good “bad" GMing. My biggest complaints are that there isn’t more and I can’t share it with my group until we play The Enemy Within.

MariusWrexThe Best In Character, Best Worst Character Podcast Ever.I’ve been listening to GPoPA since episode twenty and unfortunately will never again get to experience the joy of having 20 hours of fresh content from it ever again, because I always finish listening to new episodes within an hour of them popping up on my feed. A ridiculous, off the rails cavalcade of misfortune, incompetence, dangerous risks and in character poor choices that immediately begins with a impoverished, emaciated witch being hit by a stagecoach before ignoring every possible social more, law and self preservation instinct for a further seventy episodes; an obese, eventually semi-literate obese buffoon, with an implausibly dedicated wife, waving a grenade launcher he can’t use in between bouts of panic, a non-standard accented militia woman stacking up hello kitty stickers with every kill as her crumbling psyche races her rising fervor towards either heresy or piety and a quietly competent stevedore-sailor-warrior priest undergoing a bare knuckled hero’s journey amidst the chaos. I’ve laughed so hard I cried and seriously disturbed old ladies walking their Pomeranians past me and even miraculously got my wife interested in something related to Warhammer.

SkavenmattAmazing Actual PlayThis is the best Actual play podcast I've listened to, of any RPG in my time as a podcast listener tooer. Very fun group, you can tell they're all having a blast playing, they've got the typical archetypes covered. cool nerd girl, party sabatour, mostly good guy, and mostly selfish guy. the GM knows enough about the system to keep the game flowing with very few edits, and when they realize they've made a mistake, they bring it up and try to fix it. from session 0 to current, theres not a dud in the batch. If yo're going to support them on patrean, alot of the episodes have videos, and the party looks like : strung out crackhead keano reeves; skinny, young, high brendan frasier; spaceballs era rick morranis; scarlet johanssen; being GMed by skinny john goodman.

MattKingCole1Best Roleplay Podcast Ever!I started listening because I was interested in Warhammer’s Enemy Within campaign. I stayed because the people are awesome. Whether it’s Bruno stealing food, Meena telling Uncle Chet stories, or Lucky trying stay alive, it’s great. I really relate with Carl as the one sane man, and Dan the sometimes Evil always Great GM. I work in a warehouse, and this podcast is so funny, it’s interfered with work. I could barely keep going, I was laughing so hard. Thanks for the laughs guys.

fe2mikeBest of the best of the best, SirNot only is this the best WFRP actual play podcast, in my opinion it is the best Warhammer podcast, and the best actual play podcast of any RPG. This group of friends is doing a wonderful job of keeping the gaming easy, the characters and story entertaining, and you can tell that they are having a great time doing it. It really is a joy to listen too. After hearing they were recognizing Mental Health Awareness Month, I new it was time for me to leave a review. On behalf of all of us silent listeners, thank you for the hours and hours of entertainment and escapism you offer us all!
-
DRG108Keep it up!Utterly superb! It’s such a pleasure to listen to a group with such a great and humorous dynamic who really bring their characters to life with humor without sacrificing the setting or atmosphere! You guys seem to do more in an hour than others do in 3. My only gripe is, now that I’m all caught up, I have to wait a whole week for more!
-
longshotCrusher say “download now!”Finallly a woof rup show to tickle all your senses! Yes even that one... It only took me 52 episodes to fall in love with the characters (even Lucky!) That’s 52 episodes once a week(more needed). If my super numerate calculations are correct that’s just over 7.5 years of audible pleasuring content! Twice as much if you get the video option, that’s how maths works! Chaos mutants and mathematicians beware! I’m looking at you Dr Ian Malcolm, and not just because you’re hair is so beautiful.... distracted! Chaos!! The professionally casual crew of “LuMiCaB” (tm)(copyright) (pronounced loomy cab) is here to see all mutants and beastmen perish, or at least become one... Bruno with his window popping heeeeeres Brunie baby! Lucky with his wizard finger guns (no witches here) Mina with her fish slapping to the face! ...and Carl’s there too... So if all this sounds fun and great (you’re as messed up as I am), then jump on in, the water is... well it’s probably sewer water... but ok... Cheers LuMiCaB! P.s. one other thing. Never ask Lucky about his wet bag...just, no, don’t.

it cuteAbsolutely gobsmacked this isn’t famous yet.My boyfriend’s been a big Warhammer fan for a long time and when we found this podcast, we gave it a shot since I’m also a TTRPGer. Immediately binged the entire series thus far, and I’m now chomping at the bit to run WFRP myself! Absolutely hilarious, great introduction to WFRP. Cannot wait to hear more from these incredibly talented folks.

BigJP50A Great WHFRP Pod!Just found this podcast and man it’s great! If you’re looking for a great WHFRP game this is it!!

adagnaMy #1 ranked podcast - simply awesomeIn approximately 3 years, I have logged 53 days & 5 hours of podcasting time. 99% of that has been actual play podcasts for various systems ranging from Pathfinder, to Warhammer, to Cyberpunk, and quite a few inbetween. I also subscribe to most of the "big guys" in the field today. So I like to think I know a thing or two about actual play podcasts. With that said, this has quickly become my premiere podcast. I wait up for episodes to drop on Wednesday. I bump other shows I am in the middle of to put this as my top priority. It is that good. The entire cast is invested in the game and each other and it shows. Listen every week as Dan murders beloved NPC's, Mina tells Uncle Chet, stories, Bruno will certainly buy a pie or two, Lucky will summon or defile a body for some kind of organs, and Carl will look on disapprovingly of the whole affair. There is literally no way you can listen to this podcast and not have a good time, I dare you to prove me wrong.

Sproy923Just started listening to the backlog. Very good!I just started listening to this a few days ago. The production quality is very good. The cast is fun to listen to. Thanks!

AdmaletzSome of the role playingThis is one of the best podcasts for role playing. They hit the sweet spot of amusement, story, playing the system, and incorporating the setting lore.

Rabbit house vintageMy favorite Warhammer podcast.Thank you so much for getting together to do this podcast. I look forward to it every week. Things are a little depressing being stuck at home, but you guys always put a smile on my face.

tanic5Fantastic Actual PlayA fantastic actual play podcast that is very entertaining. It is great to see WHFRPG get some podcast love from some truly talented and hilarious players. I love the character voices and character development that is going on. My only complaint is I wish there was more to listen to! Keep up the great work.

Charles W '68TitleThis is has been a real treasure to find. I find both the banter and story engaging. Easy to listen to, and for someone starting to play WFRP a great resource.. When session zero is engaing, you know it is good.
