LoganbraOne of the best but often unlistenableIncredibly knowledgeable, entertaining, and funny hosts. Sound quality is regularly terrible and creates an unlistenable podcast. Very disappointing because it’s always exciting to see an episode in the feed because they’re also very inconsistent in release.
-
FetalgeuseBad production, decent insightsThe sound quality is really really bad to the point I can’t finish an episode. One of the casters will often have way too much background noise to be bearable, and the editing is so jumpy it makes me feel like my mind is jumping through time. That said, the casters themselves have good things to say; it’s just a shame the production value is so low it’s impossible to listen to.

GreedentlvrAmazingAmazing podcast keep up the great work, also I have a question, I’ve been playing the TCG with my friends and I think I’m really good and want to get into the competitive scene where should I start? Thanks, A fan
-
LupusMalumEntertaining podcast with heaps of interesting insights.Great podcast. The hosts provide information in an entertaining way without using to much shorthand or abbreviations that newcomers wouldn’t understand. Other than some consistent audio issues, severe mic popping from one of the hosts, the podcast is a font of entertaining information.
-
LobeanzoMic picking up noisesDecent show and topics, but I literally had to stop listening because dude was shuffling his cards in the background the whole time & mic was picking it up 🙄
-
Korey GilmerListener ExperienceLove the pod but whoever was shuffling this weeks episode gotta chill

Hijab234653Selfish ReviewThank you all for a fun pod each and every week. I look forward to it since I drive hours a day for my job each day. Great and diverse group of degenerate/funny TCG players. Selfish part: gentlemen, I went to Portland(first regional ever, played Sawyer in round one. lol) with Charizard and played very well but only hit one good matchup(Mew) the entire day. I am really struggling to decide what to take and start practicing for Vancouver. I used to play gardeviour but never felt like I was a great pilot of it. What would your recommendations be to play at Vancouver? I’m down to grind out the right deck. P.S. I kinda want to take Moon but I think there will be an insane amount of Spiritomb.
-
WilrowContent is good but audio is trash..pun intendedI like the content the guys are providing, however the audio each week makes listening almost unbearable.
-
RackulaGreat insight for PokeDads!Listen each week and have learned a lot that helps my son who is a junior and soon to be senior player. Would you be willing to discuss your advice for parents of younger players (dos and donts) at tournaments and a little about how the younger meta game may vary from masters for this format? Thanks and keep up the great work!
-
GorillaTerrenceExcellent podcast for competitive tcg playersI really like the style of this podcast it has a unique couch podcast style that doesn’t really follow a tight structure. Last weeks episode was probably one of my favorites. I really liked how the mic time was allocated. I am usually a fan of the tournament reviews they are quick and simple yet very informative. I also appreciate Liam always gassing me up on X (he’s a real one for that). Great podcast overall keep it up don’t ever stop.
-
Beached JacobGreat technique sharing!Love listening to Trashalanche above all others! Why? Well because I love the talk about techniques! I’m a TCG player so as much I like tournament news and all that, I LOVE learning from other players and their techniques in the game! Best advice I’ve heard… grab some Dragon Shields!
-
max leedyZaI like the podcast. You’ll catch me going back and listening to old episodes all the time because I be getting bored sometimes. I always enjoy when you guys have little philosophical tid bits as well it always gets me thinkin. I have a question for you all, what do you all think would happen if before a tournament we knew what deck would win but not what exact list or who. Would you play the deck and try to win or hard counter it knowing people would play it but you had no chance to win the tournament?
-
Aaron (albatross&eagles)Good knowledge and goes In depthBeen listening for the past 8 months and enjoy their banter. I appreciate how In depth they go into matchup and tell their stories. Only issue is dragon shields aren’t the best sleeves. Katana’s are supreme. Have tried Dragonshield 6 different times and all have been trash. 😁🙏

PolsourBig FanBeen listening for about 4-5 months now and really enjoying the pod. Love the crew and content on the meta. Nick

gyarados11My favorite Pokémon TCG podcast! My favorite Pokémon TCG podcast! I'm a long-time competitive player (since 2007) and appreciate everyone’s insights to the current game and reflections on past formats. I've followed and enjoyed both Mike and Brit's content since the SixPrizes days and it is as insightful now as ever. I met Mike at several PA events when I was at Penn State in 2016-17 and he is just as nice a guy in person. The Trashalanche's meta prediction this week gave me the confidence to play Palkia/Intelleon this weekend at Knoxville Regionals. I had my best finish at a major event in years, just bubbling out of Top 32. Keep up the great work Trashalanche! -Taylor Duffin

Tart OtterTop 3 Best Pokemon TCG PodcastEvery week I look forward hearing everyone's insight into the current meta and general discussion. As a newer player (started playing during Chilling Reign) it helps me focus on what to play and what to look out for when attending events. Also Dragon Shields are the best sleeves on the market.
-
GreatttyydLove the Podcast!Ask a Pokedad I listen to a few podcasts to stay in tune with the meta. You’ve made the list ! Also who doesn’t use Dragon Shield sleeves? Haha -Matthew Hall

Deck and CoverBest Pokémon tcg podcast!Podcast deserves so much more attn — there’s a lot of strong and helpful analysis here from three smart and insightful players
-
SEXYBROBEEEasily the best Pokémon podcastStarted playing in 2000 with the gbc game (lol), played some organized during the first ex era, got back in right before fusion strike. Trashalanche, its archive of the past year, and all its recommendations are indispensable to plauers of any level. I also wanna know if you think the new slowbro from go will be good? Maybe in Zoroark?
-
bthomp2012My Favorite Pod on the pokemon tcgEach host brings a wealth of knowledge and thoughtful analysis of the pokemon tcg! Not only that, they are great writers. Brit and Mike have written some great articles on six prizes. Even though the articles cover older formats they are interesting to read. Plus Brent wrote a book about the pokemon tcg, which I think is the only one in existence.
-
Kevin AbernathyAmazing podcast!!Extremely fun and informative podcast, thank you for the hard work you put in! I’ve always enjoyed rogue decks, and have ironically worked on rogue decks with both Mike (toxicroak, scizor) and Brit (empoleon, drifblim) in the past with or without us knowing about it haha what’s your favorite rogue creation of all time?

Sushi817🔥🔥🔥Solid Pokémon Podcast! Keep it up!
-
DanTheTrainer18Excellent Pokémon TCG podcastGreat podcast, love the insight on deeper parts of the game, and all of the hosts clearly have expertise and experience in the game. Definitely recommend it if you’re a Pokémon person. Also, absolutely leaving a review so I can join the podcast.
-
RTECCCCGreat pod for intermediate and skilled playersA lot of great pods out there for the competitive TCG but this one doesn’t assume that you are a beginner which can get old as a more seasoned player when they try to explain the simple parts of the game. These guys get into the in depth of the strategy of the game and are much more focused on discussions of the state of the game and predicting the meta. Great pods out there but this one might be at the top of the mountain.

KarlenlopezzzzzTrashalicious PerfectionThis podcast is perfect, amazing, delicious… Trashalicious! I can’t get enough of it, when riding my Bike, Trashalanche, while coding at work, Trashalanche, combing my armpits in the shower, Trashalanche! This podcast has the perfect amount of perfect perfection, the cast is to die for, some could say that Brent’s voice is orgasmic, Mike’s knowledge that he brings to the table, although historic and sometimes too mathematically complex for a small mind like myself, is great for both new players and seasoned veterans! And holy cow have you seen Brit’s tattoos!?!?! Ok… I haven’t either, but I’ve heard that they’re awesome, and I can sense that presence via my headphones through every episode, gotta meet that guy in person one day… Anyways, thank you for this podcast! Without it, I don’t know what I’d be doing or where, maybe winning Regionals instead of being a washed up pokedad, but then again maybe not? I’ve lost track of where I am… oh ya, listen to this twitch channel, they’re brilliant!
-
KindFawnThe BEST Pokémon PodcastBeen loving listening to the pod on my way to and from my locals. I’d be interested to see some more expanded talk on the show!

count da moneyFantastic PodcastI started to listen to the podcast 4 or 5 weeks ago, and now it’s something I look forward to every week. Great analysis on current events in PTCG, meta analysis and matchups. I feel like every minute of the podcast has relevant content. Brett and Brit (sp?) are awesome, and Mike has incredible knack for simplifying the approach to matchups and techs. I tried the Podcast maybe 6 months ago and I couldn’t get into it- maybe my knowledge and understanding of the game has improved to where now I full appreciate. And maybe these guys have also improved. Keep up the fantastic work Dan (count_da_money)

Gamer roxasFantastic Pokémon tcg podcastsThere have been very few and none currently ongoing that are as good this one for competitive Pokémon tcg information.
-
CaseydillaAmazing Competitive Level PodcastFantastic contest for keeping up with Competitive Pokémon scene. The hosts are all well versed in all things Pokemon TCG and do a great job linking past, present, and future in order to make calls on the current meta. As someone who can’t play much outside of the weekends, the Pod does a great job summarizing the state of the meta and helping me know what some of the best plays are. They hosts do a great job covering some of the more intricate parts of the game such as the sequencing in certain matchups that you just won’t get anywhere else.

junethepokegodPika is BDIF from junethepokegodTo put it simply this is the best podcast for competitive Pokémon play. As a intermediate try hard in the Pokémon TCG three really great people (always 100% attendance) each talk about the meta for Pokémon for multiple formats. This podcast keeps you hooked from start to finish and the intro sequence never disappoints... Alright my questions : 1) TURBO BOLTUND GO VROOOOOOOOM SWSH ON (no need for answer) 2) what’s everyone’s opinion on shuffling irl cause apparently I have to do that now 3) this ones for mike being a high school student who has to take math has any of your students actually acknowledge PTCG, because for my stats project 4/8 groups did something related to TCGS 5) you didn’t notice I skipped 4 Anyways you guys are awesome hope this helps break the algorithm or whatever
-
OroDedosTrash Inbound! After not playing the TCG since ‘16 I decided to get back into it when there was no organized okay. The guys here at Trashalanche have helped me understand the current meta even though IRL events still aren’t quite here yet. Highly recommend this for anyone of any skill level. Also figured I should finally leave a review after the tweetalanche results.

Shaylor TillmanThe Right Balance of Casually Approachable and Competitively SeriousAs someone new to the game (other than pulling random booster packs as a 90s kid), this podcast has been an excellent boost to my entry into the game. I am a 7th Grade Social Studies teacher and got into the game because of my students who play it during the lunch hour in my classroom. You guys make the competitive side of this game approachable for new players like myself. Keep up the work! Question: What are your least favorite Pokemon? Explain your answer in at least 3 sentences using evidence. I was interested in your answers after the previous discussion. My least favorite pokemon is anything based on inanimate objects....like Klink...where did design go? Potentially annoying question: After ADP and Lucmetal rotate, is there a future for Turbo Zacian or some other variant around Zacian V? Explain your answer in at least 3 sentences and use evidence. P.S. My vote for the name of followers of the podcast is Trashmons. P.P.S. Any plans for a Discord channel for Trashmons?

mattw66ResubmittedDidn’t want you guys to get love, I heard your Criticism from my air pods 😂. Great cast the guys on trasholanche pardon spelling. Give very imformative info about the Pokémon tcg meta. They give a very unique perspective more about #s and the math side of the game, that a newer player would find very easy to pick up on. But also remember listen to lots of different content creators to up your own game and find out what you need! Hope this is a better review!
-
SkinnyPepperBUSTEDYo! Love the cast! I throw you guys on while driving to work in the car. You guys really bring to light all the different angles of the meta and why certain techs are currently being played. More players should be listening to you guys. IF YOURE READING THIS REVIEW AND YOU HAVENT LISTENED TO THEM, JUST DO IT! YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!!! Three questions/topics: What are you’re guys’ favorite Pokémon? What are your favorite Regionals you’ve been too? And why do you always edit out Mike saying PikaRom fully? Like it always comes out as just PikaR... and cut to the rest of the sentence lol
-
14mudkip14AwesomeNew listener! Loved the newest one, which I listened to. Charismatic hosts and they cover my favorite topics. That being said, the podcast logo really needs to be changed. If you put in a commission to someone for a little bit of money, you could probably get a really sweet garbodor logo and A TON more listeners. Great pod, though. Keep it up
-
Jake Gearhart5/5 Star PodcastMentions me occasionally therefore it must be fantastic! In all seriousness, I think you guys do a great job covering everything going on in the tournament scene every week while making sure to break things up. RS-PK ftw!
-
ChampOfFuna great Pokemon TCG podcast!Chill

Mmmoni89Awesome podcast with probably the best minds in the gameHey Trashalanche Podcast this is coming from BecomingEthereal on Twitter. This is definitely my favorite Pokémon TCG podcast. It’s the most reliable in terms of attendance ;) and game information. It’s definitely an important park of my weekly routine. I really enjoy the knowledge of the game these people have so definitely give it a listen. For a suggestion, I’d love to see more of what y’all did with magnachu. Taking a deck and looking at it matchup by matchup. Specifically in the harder matchups like talk through a pikarom mirror match going first what your goals should be. Thanks for all your hard work!
-
Cory_HenryGreat in depth analysis !This pod is absolutely fantastic! The hosts drop a ton of knowledge of the current and past metas . So I did have 2 questions .Im a newer player and barely missed qualifying for the players cup . I think if I had better sequencing and a game plan for certain matchups I could’ve done it . So what are some tips for better sequencing and planning out a game plan vs certain matchups? The second is about online events like limitless and hegster etc . Can you kind of walk me through the registration process ,matches , reporting and general process of the online events ? Thanks a lot and keep up the great work
-
Fifthhorseman_86Awesome podcastGreat podcast for anyone in the competitive Pokemon community. Keen insight from some great players on how to get better as a player in all aspects of the game.
-
Gabe ShumwayGreat EpisodesExcellent job with many of the recent podcasts. Many of the pokemon TCG related podcasts I’ve listened to in the past cover the game itself, but some of the recent topics that you all have covered help in and out of the game itself as well as in the real world. It’s also great to hear the various opinions on topics from three different people, and it’s always great to listen to the podcast every week! (Also, congrats on the big win this weekend Mike, those were some fun games we played this weekend.) -Gabe

KirkT99S-tier podBetter than being stamped to 1 and hitting boss for game
-
Eric Brooks - NintenBro64The 1/4 Bad Peek PlayerDope Podcast, but savage disrespect. "I dunno who Eric Brooks is but 3/4 of those Pikarom players are good." ;)
-
Cam 0095/5 PodcastLove this podcast, I was hoping you guys could talk about what you guys do to improve as a player? Also please pronounce eternatus correctly it’s driving me insane 🙃
-
j. boltYes.These guys are cool, intelligent and also great players. Listen to this podcast.
-
Phoenixback4firePure Garbotoxin goodness! This trio brings a lot to the table. I thoroughly enjoy Mike’s mathematical approach and the hosts genuine drive for the game! Keep up the hard work and that 100% success rate. -Adam Tuttle
