Ahc4959Great podcast!I first heard Dr. Grace Jung when she was a guest on the Bechdel Test. Her insightful discussion of the context behind Parasite was so interesting, but I KNEW I had to follow her work after she masterfully addressed the white guilt and “othering” that the BT hosts constantly resorted to while mispronouncing the Korean actors’ names. Here, Dr. J discusses fascinating aspects of K Dramas, and provides context that speaks to both newbies and enthusiasts alike. I feel like I learn so much from these episodes. (And I can’t wait to read the book!) Edit: as I continue to listen, I especially appreciate the discussion of trauma and mental health. Thank you for giving space to share and explore these topics with us.

philpangFeels like bait and switchI downloaded episode 86 expecting to hear a discussion about the show Extraordinary Attorney Woo. Instead there was only 5 minutes dedicated to it at the beginning. The next hour and half I have no idea what that was.

Chin KimGood When It’s about KdramasThis show is great. The host is great. The guests are hit or miss—more miss when it devotes a lot of time to White male views of the world. This is more of a comedy industry podcast, which is fine. Just know what it is.

listener78174For anyone who watched kdramas…Love this podcast. But, please use volume control… it’s much quieter than other podcasts I listen to. I have to adjust the volume for even sections within the episode.

ILL-JBeyond expectation!K-drama is only a small part of the show. The show features amazing guests who have so much interesting and funny things to say about life in general, and they do not seem to have literally anything to do with K-drama, but Grace somehow engages them magically to be part of the narrative. The best part of the show, by far, is the host, Grace, who does everything so fluidly. She’s smart, witty, and funny, and she can leads conversations with her guests so naturally.

L_GarzaLove this podcastI look forward to every Monday because of this podcast!! This podcast can be educational to all, regardless of if they follow K-dramas. I love that there is a mix of content that include critical analyses of Korean dramas and all its surrounding cultural context, as well as learning more about the lives and experiences of the podcast host and her weekly guests who are all comedians. Five stars all the way !!
