Well researched and intelligent...also very funny. Awesome companion for a full muppet show rewatch!

I had wanted to find a podcast that would go through each of the Muppet Show episodes and break them down, not TEAR THEM DOWN! Yes, I'm well aware a product of the 70s would contain sad moments of brownface, racism, fat-shaming, etc. I am well aware the Muppet Show contains those such moments. I was NOT aware these hosts and panelists existed to break down and discourage anyone from watching the Muppet Show ever again. Count how many times the hosts say "I hated this episode" or "I hated this" "I hated that". There is no joy to these rewatches and breakdowns. They sigh and go "Here's how I was disappointed by this segment." Their hateful words (literally;, I could not stop counting how many ties they say the word "hate") wore me down and made me hate this podcast. Where is the joy? Where is the pleasure? There is only disgruntlement and judgement here... and this is the Muppet Show of all things. I hate you all.

I absolutely love this podcast and get excited when I see a new episode in my queue. The hosts (which I feel are my long lost tribe) are so fun to listen to and have such an entertaining and sometimes critical take on each of these classic episodes from the late 70s and early 80s. You will learn all about the hosts of each Muppet Show episode and why they were relevant at that time as well as what current events were happening at the time the episodes aired. And, my favorite feature- you will hear the TV guide lineup of all the other shows that aired the same night as the Muppet Show episode being discussed. It is a delightful walk down memory lane for anyone who grew up watching all those shows back in the day. The best part is when the hosts get hilariously critical of the sometimes offensive or gauche creative choices happening on certain episodes. Thank you 1970s television! Oh, and they also do a deep dive of each song performed on the episodes. If you are a classic TV nerd, Muppets nerd, theater nerd, song and dance nerd, you need to listen! Just like Sam the Eagle states, "You are all weirdos!" Yes we are Sam and we embrace the weirdness!

Having sampled several Muppets podcasts, I was pleased to find that these guys really do their homework (including hilarious gifs on their website). They take a close look at episodes, research guests and music, and really do justice to the show.

Nice podcast and voice annoying a little bit

I discovered this podcast through “This Had Oscar Buzz” and I just caught up all the way. I enjoy hearing your takes on the Muppets! I first attempted to binge the series over a decade ago, but only made it to Bob Hope. I ended up watching the entire series a couple years later, then again when it came to Disney+ When you reach Season 5, have you ever considered covering it in the order of production dates that end with the Gene Kelly episode?

Thanks to this show I will always thank the public domain, watch little house on the prairie, and know about noted Joe reposeo stan frank Sinatra. Sadly still no pope :(

Watching the Muppet Show when I was a kid in the 1970s was a treat and the rewatch as an adult is made more enriching with this entertaining podcast from a panel of drama, music and Muppet scholars (I never knew there was such a trove of deep Muppet knowledge). Their recapping with research, analysis and contextualizing really enhances my enjoyment of revisiting this show. I look forward to watching one Muppet Show episode a week and listening to the corresponding podcast where I’m sure to laugh and learn something new about a particular puppeteer, piece of music or beloved character.

As someone who caught the occasional rerun (and really enjoyed it) I really love getting to watch along and listen in as the hosts discuss everything from music to guest stars, canonical moments and puppetry!
