Though structured around the DCAU and the hilarious and fun discussions therein, this podcast is much like a giant ball of gum rolling down hill and accumulating many random things along the way and it is delicious! Love it!

What up Bat-wagoners! I recently started listening to the pod, working my way through the backlog of older episodes and catching the new episodes as they drop. As someone who was born in 1990 I literally grew up watching BTAS, STAS, Batman Beyond, etc. and it is very fun hearing Brian experience these shows for the first time. I am especially excited for you guys to eventually get to Blank Blank: Blank of the Blank and to hear Brian’s thoughts on what happened to Blank and Blank; also hope you talk about the differences between the edited and unedited versions. Also the episode “Out of the Past” is probably the greatest episode of Batman Beyond, I cannot wait for you guys to do that one.

I don't like to normally give bad reviews, but guys, I gave you 18 episodes. I came here from the Watchtower Database youtube, hoping to see the same attention to detail, wry humor and thoughtful commentary. What I got was spamming that stupid soundboard with your fake theme song again and again, and while it's one thing to make a more comedic podcast, everything I liked about your Youtube channel just isn't here.

This is such a fun podcast. I found it because the guys on Watchtower Database said they have a podcast and immediately loved it. The guys never take it overly seriously but drop cool facts about the show while having a good time. I grew up with the DCAU shows and movies and look forward to when each episode. Keep up the fantastic work guys and thanks again! Wanted to drop an addendum to my original review. You guys are awesome and I remember telling my late brother and best friend Mike about the show and your YouTube channel. He told me a few weeks after I introduced him to the show and channel that he was happy he knew about it. He passed away back in the summer of 2022 and whenever I listen to your podcast, I know he’s listening with me. He was a big Batman, Superman and superhero fan and I’m glad I could suggest the shows, channel and content. Ty again for the awesome content and you guys are fantastic! Keep the great work coming and btw, I’m a Fox Kids and Kids’ WB! fan so hearing you mention shows like Pokemon and how you guys would include the Kids’ WB! shows like Superman: TAS and The New Batman Adventures. Nearly a decade ago, I wrote an article on an unfortunately now-defunct Batman fansite gushing over the brilliance of the Watchtower Database’s webcomic Legacies of the DCAU. Almost 10 years later and the Watchtower Database continues to bring that level of brilliance to exploring the DCAU in what is in some ways their most comprehensive endeavor yet. The dynamic of this podcast is so exciting. The segments into which the podcast episodes are structured are awesome, and each episode I find it so fascinating to hear both the perspective of a DCAU expert who has watched the shows and movies numerous times and someone experiencing the shows and movies for the very first time. I already knew how much fun James was to listen to, and I am delighted to be able to say that about Brian as well. I think this podcast is only going to get more and more interesting the more DCAU that Brian consumes (I look forward to him eventually understanding the reference in the title of this review), so jump on the Bat-wagon now.

Among the many DCAU podcasts out there this one is probably the most fun simply because this is the only one I know of where one of the hosts has never seen the DCAU! Having watched the DCAU repeatedly I know how much of a treat Brian is in for, so it’ll be exciting to see his journey through this great universe that Bruce Timm, Paul Dini, and so many others brought us. My favorite part is when Brian tries to guess what the episode is about!

James and Brain have incredible chemistry and exude a genuine enthusiasm for the DCAU that’s downright infectious. They manage to keep each episode structured and on-track without sacrificing any fun or spontaneity, and of course the listener interactions are always a delight. So excited for more 🫶

James and Brian are a great pair of hosts that can continuously keep listeners entertained with their banter, random shenanigans, and the added experience of discussion about one of the best written and animated fictional universes. The podcast offers two greats perspectives, with one host (James) being an avid fan of the DCAU, while the other (Brian) is a newcomer to the series. With Brian’s lack of experience with any of these shows, he offers a unique perspective as he does not hold back any criticism with the shoe. This makes it a refreshing experience when it often feels like only the great things about the DCAU are discussed, though his genuine praise is not an infrequent occurrence and it is enjoyable to see what he gives it to. No episode has left me unsatisfied and have been a great thing to listen to whenever I have the free time or need something to listen to. Needless to say, you should get up on the bat-wagon.

James and Brian are two people in the top 100 funniest people I know. Brian is 32nd and James is 54th, but they’re both pretty funny. James knows a lot about Batman, and Brian is very patient. It’s not easy to be patient with people who know a lot about Batman, but Brian does a pretty good job.

a show that captures the magic of introducing a friend to the DCAU… without requiring me to actually have any friends

I’m 12 episodes in right now but I laugh so much while listening. I don’t even watch the accompanying shows, I just listen for the lols. It really feels like I’m hanging out with my friend and his friend Brian.

Huge fan of this podcast. Every time I put an episode on I know I’m going to laugh. The discussions and sound effects are always awesome. I also love the extra information added, that makes me not only enjoy this podcast, but also btas. Great job guys!! You are are the best Yoppie dudes. 👍

If yes, this is the podcast for you. James and Brian have a chemistry like no other duo (I look forward to the continuing will they/won’t they of their relationship). In all seriousness, James and Brian have a fun time making these and it always feels like you (you specifically, the listener) are invited in to hang with them, highly recommend.

It’s really fun to listen to James and Brian argue over character names and come up with plots for episodes, as well as their ongoing battle with that pesky fan! I highly recommend this podcast to any DCAU fan.
