Very knowledgeable hosts but, boy, do they get off topic and have a bad habit of hammering a point home until it’s completely dead.

I have been dying for my whole life to get into it at least learn about the witchy stuff but the Greek mythology is a major major plus! I never knew I needed! I have so many questions 😫 great show love the hosts. Ps. Forgot to mention a plus is the ladies seems extremely knowledgeable and trustworthy about what they are discussing.

I’m hoping it’s just the episodes I’ve happened to pick so far, but so far it seems like there’s a lot of talk about “ this is wrong and this is wrong and this is wrong and this is wrong” but not really enough info about the correct way to do things. Whenever people behave this way, it gives the energy of wanting to feel superior or gatekeeping. I came on here hoping to learn, but so far I’m just learning a bunch of stuff not to do, and learning nothing about what I could be adding in my spiritual practice like I was hoping. 3 stars because there is some information about other cultures or spiritual practices, but also sometimes they feel like opinions and highly judgmental. Still, interesting enough that I’m trying to give it one more shot with a couple more episodes.

This podcast is the reason I decided to jump headfirst into Hellenism and the spiritual world I don’t do anything with spirit but learning about how to placate them and form bonds is really fun and leaning all the different aspects of Hellenism and spirituality has been eye opening thank you from the bottom of my heart

Listening to your comparisons between Catholicism and other religions makes me want to actually discuss with you. I have a degree in History/Art History with a minor in History of Religion and I love listening to you so much. Tenn’s intelligence of art history and Chelsea’s basis in Italian folklore/Catholicism gives me the same feeling that I got in college. A+ podcast!

This show came highly recommended to me by many folks so I gave it a listen. I like some of the core ideas they hold & agree with them on points such as mental health & healing (yes!) However, while the hosts are knowledgeable in certain areas there are some areas where they have “hot takes” which are uninformed making me wish they did more research beforehand. In one episode they share why they don’t agree with a specific practice/ belief system speaking from a negative personal experience they had (which is valid & so appreciated that they brought attention to a problematic side of the practice in modern day). However they then use their experience with a problematic modern day practitioner as a blanket statement of “this is how this particular system works overall” which is untrue making it an issue; they would have know this was untrue if they had done research. Despite continually saying “we have no issues if you practice this” they then followed up with a long list of uninformed opinions on why the practice is a problem. And while they had one small historical fact correct in regards to the practice (the decade it came to exist), that seemed to be the only piece of information they got right. They continued to make assumptions without looking into cultural or historical context for how the practice came to be, how the culture/ country of origin reflects in the practice & how it’s been twisted in modern day becoming problematic.

This podcast is great for both entertainment and educational purposes. I feel like Tenn and Chelsea are my besties! I also really love that while their interests intersect, their knowledge and experiences complement each other very well and balance the show. Love my spooky ghost hosts! - @georgiageorvanna

So I started listening from the first episode and have been making my way through and once I hit about episode 49 I noticed a big difference in Chelsea. I totally understand that when you have all 4 Clair’s open you don’t have to “look for signs” because you can see & head your spirit team. But for us little witches who either A. Are just starting or B. Haven’t gotten to the part where their gifts are open & they’ve honed them - we most definitely do get messages all day long from our spirit team. I think it is irresponsible for someone to say that it not real - that may be your truth Chels but that’s not the truth for everyone. I think maybe taking a step back and remembering that not everyone believes the same things and instead of making me feel like I am less than or “stupid” for believing the things I do….looking for signs is a universal truth & for you to have a podcast & annouce to everyone that it’s not true - which is fine if that’s what you believe - when it is in fact true & you’re telling someone it’s not then they’re missing so many messages from their spirit team. I love the history & information Tenn brings & like I said I loved the podcast before & Chels & Tenn I still love them I just think it would be irresponsible of me as a listener to not bring this to their attention. Do better please! That’s all I’m asking!

I was a pretty big fan of this podcast up until late, until I found out that Chelsie was using closed practices and has refused to take accountability.

This is my FAVORITE podcast EVER!!! I love how these two break things down with nothing but historical evidence and facts so I always am confident I’m being told the CORRECT version of history—especially when it comes to deities! I absolutely love listening to this podcast and often find myself laughing along and agreeing with everything they say and you really just feel like a part of their conversation it’s great! 🩷 can’t say enough good things about them, just give it a listen and you won’t be disappointed!!

As is the current norm, undeveloped spiritualists speak on things they don’t fully understand, things they can’t conceptualize beyond surface information, covered in a layer of “it’s ancient practicessssah!” to make it slightly more palatable to people who don’t know any better. VERY entertaining

The overall content and quality of the podcast in nice and the presentation is seamless. The tone is pretty casual but entertaining peppered with the occasional serious take. While the discussion points are relatable to most practitioners or enthusiasts the conversation is often lacking nuance, depth or explanation for highly opinionated or broad statements.

I've been listening To Styx and Bones with Chelsea and Tenn for a couple of months now and when I tell you it is TOP TIER! They pack each episode with so much information and deliver it in a way that's so intriguing. Listening to this podcast after work is now my favorite part of my day!

I was with them until they, like so many other misinformed people, started going off about white sage being a closed practice. I don’t know how many times I’ve told ignorant white girls that the herb itself is not closed. The ritual that it is used in is. Anyone can use white sage, and they should, since there are farms that raise this sacred herb to prevent it from going extinct and to discourage illegal harvesting of wild white sage from native land. White sage is not a closed practice, and you yammering on and on that it is is actually hurtful to conserving this plant. Educate yourselves.

Chelsea and Tenn bring so much passion and excitement to their discussions which range from witchcraft, religion, archeology, ghosts, paranormal and a host of other topics. Always entertaining and I laugh out loud at least a few times per episode. Love this podcast.

Chelsea and Tenn are so funny, knowledgeable, and genuine that you can’t help but love listening to them. If you’re looking for a spooky time with comedic relief in between, these two are what you’re looking for. After catching COVID for a second time recently, I binged this podcast on my daily walks. Catching up on 20 episodes, since I was a little late and I’m new to Styx and Bones, it flew by! I can’t believe that I’m caught up and I eagerly await for each new episode. Hearing the dynamic between Chelsea and Ten is absolutely incredible. Their back and forth with each other is effortless, and by the time 45 minutes comes around, the episode is already over! Chelsea and Ten have such extensive knowledge in all of their areas of study, and they give such great advice. I’m new to my whole spiritual journey, I recently started in the pandemic like a lot of people, so having this podcast to look forward to each week is the highlight of my week. After listening to each episode, I am hooked and will be joining their Patreon very soon for all of the content that I have missed. Thank you so much, Chelsea and Ten, for sharing all of your knowledge and I can’t wait to see what comes in the future!

Listening is truly like listening to friends chat in your living room, which makes every episode a blast to listen to.
