------pCredible and actionable resourceFeeling guilty about not being enough for your child or like you’re failing? Tired of spinning your wheels? Me too, until I found this podcast. We recently landed on an ADHD diagnosis after many years of suspicion - in turns out that overworked teachers in a low performing school can’t really corroborate your concerns because they have no bandwidth to observe their students. If you’re reaching out for this resource and other resources (not just watching 2 min clips on social media), your parenting issues are probably not that your child feels “unseen”, as social media would have you believe. We are just getting started on a long journey, but this is the first time I have felt hopeful about achieving peace in my home. You don’t have to negotiate and argue daily or indulge their manipulative explanations. I’ve binged these episodes for a few weeks and I’m already seeing the benefits in my child. It’s refreshing to hear people quoting research studies and credible sources.

MeganLindstromVery valuable informationAs a parent to a newly diagnosed ADHD daughter this podcast has been extremely valuable and helpful to our family. I love how straight to the point they are and always giving examples and practical strategies. Ever since my daughter’s diagnosis, I have listened to a lot of different podcasts and audiobooks, and they are so far my favorite!!!

Lisarex19Beyond GratefulI have been listening to this podcast from the beginning right after finding Micheal on Instagram. This podcast has been so informative and empowering for me in helping my son who is 5 and diagnosed ADHD. Thank you for shedding so much light on this diagnosis! It’s truly mind blowing how difficult it can be to find help/resources/information for your child to be successful in life. This podcast does exactly that!!
-
KForbes0418Very InformativeI just found this podcast, but can’t stop listening. It’s such an eye opener for the behaviors I’m seeing in my 7 year old daughter who I know has ADHD, but we haven’t yet sought a diagnosis. I appreciate the hosts sharing their experiences and wisdom with us through this platform!
-

Mrs_HannaThis Podcast is so helpful as a parent!!This podcast is truly so helpful as a parent!!! I have a son who was diagnosed with mixed ADHD last year and in searching for ways to help him I stumbled upon this podcast; I now send episodes to most of my friends (even ones who don’t have ADHD kids) because it is so helpful just with parenting in general! Thank you!!
-
RanRanHawsAmazing Resource!!Recently found the podcast and it has been so helpful in understanding how my son’s brain works and getting helpful strategies in parenting him!

Cgreen1977School Refusal SolvedThe episode with Kristin McNeely on school refusal was vitally helpful for us. Our son is a senior in high school and he missed 24 days of school last semester due to school refusal. After listening to this episode, we implemented some of the strategies and began working with Dani from GrowNow. I am happy to say that my son is back in school full-time and will be able to graduate with his class in June. Thank you!
-
JM, MDGame changerPractical advice that one can implement. Bring sanity back to your household with this podcast. All teachers and therapists/docs should be required to listen. This should be part of trainee education for psych etc . Mike and ryan please be active on twitter!

loveleeEye opening and very helpfulI have been following both hosts on Instagram for a couple of years. I only recently found their podcast and am finding it so very helpful. My husband and I are both listening and it has changed our approach with our child and our school. Thank you both for providing parents with the tools of how to navigate and to step back to help our ADHD child thrive.
-
Hawkeye1705Easy to implement adviceThis podcast has helped us to understand our child’s challenges and how to better support him. I enjoy the simple and straightforward parenting advice.
-
AliDriLife-changing podI found this podcast because we recently welcomed a child into our home who is 10 years old and diagnosed with ADHD. He's been the foster care system since he was four. I found this podcast to bring a sense of relief to us as parents and welcomed strategies that are actually working with him. We really felt like we were floundering as his parents trying to manage his behaviors and personal relationships. These guys are the real deal and get very common sense and practical advice and wisdom for parenting a child with executive functioning delay. Highly recommend
-
Ronnie0489Game changingI have a son with ADHD and I love the practical advice this podcast has provided. Even with OT and medication this podcast has helped with home life to provide guidance on how to implement more structure at home and clear expectations for everyone within the household.

Momofm&cAmazingly informative and practical for parents & educatorsThis podcast is extremely helpful for parents & educators looking to understand ADHD. This is the best podcast for practical advice & insight into the ADHD. I have learned so much as both a parent of a child with ADHD as well as a professional in the field.

Mrs. ResnickSo helpful!I have an 8yr old son with ADHD and this podcast has been the most helpful of all the ADHD podcasts I’ve listen to!
-
891jakVery helpfulI’ve been struggling with my kid(s) for a while and since we both got diagnosed, also with myself. This podcast and other content has been incredibly helpful AND hopeful

Andreadawn08Best podcast for ADHD parentingGreat podcast. I always look forward to listening. Has helped me immensely to understand my ADHD sons brain and personality. Highly recommend to any parent, teacher, grandparent of ADHD kids, most especially boys!!!!
-
mamaray2Great podcast! There is no sugar coating! Mike and Ryan are transparent and candid about action items that parents must do to help their kiddos!
-
gym-diver&heidi-bearExceptional content, thank you! When our son was diagnosed with ADHD our doctor recommended my husband and I to a parenting class at Seattle children’s. So many of the principles we are taught in that class are talked about here on the podcast, it feels like a constant reinforcement of what we are learning as we discover the ways to help our son thrive. We find that these approaches are also helpful for our other sons without ADHD (we have four boys) these are just all around helpful tools! I listen everyday, thank you so much, I feel hopeful for the first time in many years!
-
School Adjustment CounselorI have learned so much!! Thank you!!I am a school social worker and have a lot of kids on my caseload who have ADHD. School based trainings for social workers and teachers barely touch ADHD and school personnel typically know very little. I’ve had to educate myself and a lot of that has been done through this podcast. I am so appreciative; I have changed many of my practices with my ADHD students based on Mike and Ryan’s information and I am seeing better outcomes for my students. I recommend the podcast to every parent I know who has a child with ADHD. I only have one parent who knew that parental coaching is the number one recommended treatment; and that’s because she happened to work for Boston Children’s Hospital in the developmental medicine department. I’ve made it my business to educate parents and staff about this. Thank you so much for this podcast! Keep on doing what you are doing! Please open a summer camp in the Boston area!!
-
TalonofdayGreat for parents of kids with *any* ADHD tendenciesMy child is not diagnosed with ADHD but I’ve noticed he does have a few mild tendencies in common with that diagnosis. I’ve used bits and pieces of advice from this show to help him cope and grow, and it seems to me like if I continue to do so he’ll have a greater chance to be highly functional and successful in life without the need for any medicalization.
-
paulpeterosonDad reviewThis is the best podcast for understanding your child with ADHD. It helps me remember to TRY to come from a spot of empathy and set high expectations that he can achieve. The podcast has helped me and my relationship with my son.
-
Maggie’s biggest supporterAlways informativeListening to this podcast has given myself so much insight into my daughter’s life and how her brain functions as a child with ADHD. As a parent I often feel like I’m not doing anything right. This podcast helps me with a lot of new knowledge but also confirms that there are some things I do right. Thank you guys for all you do to help support parents.
-
shapershapingGreat podcastI have been listening for about 2 weeks now and have learned a lot. This is exactly what my family needed. These guys are very knowledgeable, and realistic and I completely recommend this podcast if you feel lost in your child’s ADHD. Thank you guys for all your hard work and support!
-

ADHD Mom for LifeOn pointMy husband, dad, is able to listen to your podcasts while on the road which has been hugely helpful for him. He often comments it is startling how on point the two of you are!! He believes you are talking about our son. Please keep up this exceptional work. I truly believe your training has given us the tools that allow our son a real chance at healthy, happy independence.

Shans4637Exactly What We Needed!I learned of this podcast and ADHDDude through Reddit and I cannot express how happy I am to have found it. These men describe ADHD behaviors and interactions as though they are personally studying my 7 year old son. At the time of his diagnosis, we were recommended play therapy and since we live in a smaller city, there were NO options available to us so we’ve been having to try and play Trial and Error with parenting. I’ve found myself making so many of the mistakes that they point out as ineffective, and have felt like a failure as a parent on countless occasions even though we are doing our best. I could have cried (happy tears) listening to this podcast. It makes so much sense and even over the past week as we’ve started implementing these strategies, I am getting less kickback and more cooperation out of my son than I ever have before. He isn’t happy about everything by any means, but his attitude towards me has already improved overall and he’s getting tasks complete that have been a battle for years. 20/10 recommend for any parent struggling to understand their ADHD child

kristen j.m.Best of the best ADHD podcastsMike and Ryan are the voices parents of kids with ADHD need! They are willing to tackle the difficult topics and a lot of loud (but inaccurate) perspectives in the field with simple language and clear information. The podcast is a resource I share regularly in my practice, and is always received with excellent feedback.

Habdvm98The good, the bad, and the ugly (there’s no ugly)We have known about my child’s ADHD diagnosis for just over a year. Every time I listen to this podcast it gives me hope. I learn something new every time and even if I feel like I have failed over and over, the podcast encourages me to not give up. Being in medicine myself, I love that it is research and evidence based. The topics are relevant and the teachings and advice are practical and helpful. There are some things about the podcast that I don’t like…..both Mike and Ryan can be very critical of those who take a different approach, and sometimes I think in a way that is slightly unprofessional. They also hammer away at social media “experts” making recommendations that are not evidence based. While I appreciate the message, it annoys me how much time they give those who take a different approach, and I sometimes feel like they speak too harshly about those who disagree with them. However, I overlook these things because I think it stems from their passion for helping ADHD individuals in ways that have been proven to be effective. Plus there is so much other good information in their podcasts that it overwhelms what annoys me. Definitely worth your time if you have a child, sibling, friend, co-worker with ADHD, or even if you just love someone who does. Great educational and parenting tool. Thanks Guys!

YilmarieNo more gentle parenting!I thought I had tried it all, from gentle parenting to therapy & I still felt like nothing was working. This podcast is an incredible resource. It has been eye opening to truly see that what I thought was beneficial was really hindering my child’s progress all along. I was hindering his progress. ADHD parents need to hear that they need to parent differently & how. Parenting is a journey but I look forward to listening & applying more of your content. Thank you for the great work you are doing!
-
mouse94002Spot onI always find great insights in every episode. Thank you!!

Denzel J. Sarmientocrazy good.i love this podcast already, my 4yr old boy is definitely adhd like his daddy and this helps us both tbh.
-
NicoleydawnPractical, effective, evidence based, life changingI am an experienced SLP who also happens to parent two boys with ADHD. I found Mike’s account years ago and it was the parenting lifeline I had been looking for. Shortly after, I also began following Ryan’s work. I am so grateful for the RESEARCH BASED advice, strategies, and resources, these two professionals share on their platforms. It is not an easy journey, parenting children with ADHD. But when you know better, you do better. And I am a better parent (and SLP) thanks to their work.

KTB-FHopeI found you guys about a month ago & have since listened to every podcast & watched the first timers list on Ryan’s YouTube channel. My son, who was only recently diagnosed this ADHD although suspected for awhile now, has been a “different” kid from birth. He was born with a CHD that required OHS at 8 1/2 months old and also had 2 other minor surgeries between then & age 6. PT, OT, & Speech have been a part of his life for a LONG time and he was diagnosed with dyspraxia, dyslexia, & dysgraphia at the end of first grade. At the time ADHD was put on the back burner of possibilities while he received significant help through our district. While things at school improved somewhat the behavior piece was still an issue both at school and at home. He is now in 4th grade and almost ten. He was diagnosed with ADHD and medicated in early September. Between the medication and your podcast, I finally have, as you mentioned in your last podcast, HOPE! He, and we as a family, are doing so much better. I plan on signing up for the parent training after the holiday season and look forward to listening to you more and more. THANK YOU!!!! Keep up the incredible work!

Momof3nyADHD parenting podcast reviewResearch based, no nonsense advice and strategies for parents with adhd children. Promotes building independence and confidence in children in realistic and authentic ways. Mike and Ryan are both extremely knowledgeable and offer great insights into the adhd brain and executive functioning challenges.
-
TaraB2024Helpful!Lots of helpful information. Learning a lot about adhd.
-
KkiserPNWReal and clearIt’s like they’ve been watching my real-life parenting experience and every episode is telling me clear advice on what to do/what not to do. All backed by science explaining what’s going on with my child in these tough moments, helping me build empathy and understanding around their behaviors, and reasoning behind why their suggestions for me as a parent will work, even if it doesn’t work at first. As a teacher, they’ve provided real outlook and strategies to implement in my classroom for students, as well!

sisubeanUniquely helpful podcastThis podcast and the ideas behind it have been an absolute game-changer for our household. Somehow even after years of reading books and articles about ADHD, this is the first time I’ve fully understood the ways we’ve been feeding disregulation – unfortunately doing some of the exact things heavily recommended almost everywhere else. (Most particularly, these disregulation-feeding behaviours during misbehaviour and fits of anger in our household include increased language use, naming feelings, and repeatedly expressed empathy.) I feel like I have a much better understanding of how my own brain works, and how my children’s brains work. I understand that I can be a loving and empathetic parent without reinforcing inappropriate behaviour. I’m so grateful. Sometimes I wish things regarding kids’ behaviours would be framed a little less harshly, since it seems like these behaviours arise from mutual reinforcement of non-optimal responses between parents and kids, and while kids might be seeking negative attention, I don’t think it’s (always/usually) because they are purposely trying to be bad; parents and kids are all trying to get what they need using the sub-optimal tools we’ve trained each other to use. So I always want to frame my children’s behaviour in the most compassionate light possible, while also learning to respond in more effective ways. This doesn’t come up much on the show, and I greatly appreciate their straightforwardness, but occasionally I think, “they could have said that a bit more gently”. That minor comment aside, I am profoundly thankful for this podcast and the resources they share. I would love more content on sibling relationships in ADHD-heavy households!

S.Rod15Practical, useable solutions!I’m in the beginning stages of having an official diagnosis of ADHD for my 6 yo daughter. I heard Mike on a 1000 hours outside podcast episode and knew from that one hour that he was someone that would provide solid information about how to navigate ADHD. I have devoured every episode!
-
trygsgalSimple and research basedLove the straight forward information, research-based approach of this podcast. So so helpful!!

trtirdtjrtjwrtjsrtuLove, love, love!I found these guys on Instagram and have loved each of their accounts. Such helpful information for parents of children with ADHD! 🙋♀️ I especially love their podcast and hearing their discussions with each other and their perspectives. Such a helpful and practical resource! (For any parent, honestly! Their parenting advice and training is spot on!)
-
Auleo3Warning: A lot of ableism here!I have never given a bad rating, but I really had to this time. There is some good information shared, but this is the most neurodiversity-DISaffirming and trauma-UNinformed stance I have ever heard on neurodiversity. It is VERY rooted in a deficit-based medical model and pushes traditional authoritative parenting. They subscribe to an exposure-based approach to anxiety, which may be touted by the mainstream medical community but is known to cause harm to many neurodivergent individuals. If your child has autistic traits, has PDA, has any form of trauma history (which pretty much every ND individual does) much of this advice will be downright harmful.
-
IronNanYes! Life changing! Our 10-year-old son was diagnosed with ADHD two years ago. We found this podcast one year ago and our life has changed. No more super expensive talk therapy. Using Mike’s strategies and one of his coaches has changed our family life for the better for sure! I always learning from these episodes and I share them with my kiddos teachers, school counselors and caregivers. They all love it! You are changing lives. Thank you!
-
TGT shopperThank you ADHD Guys!I have followed ADHD Dude for several years and then when I found out he was going to have an ADHD Guys podcast I was excited to check it out. I haven’t been disappointed!! I think some of these less than positive reviews are people who are put off by how straightforward they are, but it’s something I 100% appreciate. I appreciate the passion and knowledge they both. I am a solo parent of 2 kids and I don’t have time for fluffy advice. So if you want fluffy advice you won’t get it from them. Parenting is hard! Solo parenting is HARD! Solo parenting my ADHD kids with ADHD myself has felt impossible, but this podcast and Ryan’s program have been so helpful. During and after each episode I feel challenged yet motivated to be a better parent and I’m learning a lot about my own ADHD brain in the process! Thanks guys!!!
-
Warden36Love thisI find it really refreshing to have this information come from a man’s perspective. My husband and myself are finding it that our son has adhd, possibly some other things going on, and what you guys are saying is so true that i can’t believe it. I’m the mom and i want to protect and keep my child from harm, but by coddling and giving in to my sons whims I’m doing more damage than good. I used to undermine my husband and get upset if he disciplined in a way i didn’t think was right. I wondered why i didn’t have the respect of my kids, and not just my son. My older daughters too, who also most likely have adhd, undiagnosed. He said it’s because they know they can bend you. You’re not sturdy, make your yes’s mean yes and you’re no’s mean no. They’re looking for limits and boundaries and i want giving them. Children respond to discipline. And i loved that you said they rise to the occasion!! When we treat them like babies forever they resent us, and we wonder why we’re doing everything for them. I don’t have that problem but i see it now and it makes sense. When we expect things if then and hold them accountable, they will be so much better for it. They have to grow up sometime , why not do it with their best future in mind? Thank you!! Love this podcast

ADHD podEp 17 grossly ignorant of working parent demands and public school realitiesSome interesting ideas but the podcasters are grossly out of touch with demands on working parents and they have no concept of what things are like at public schools. The resources they describe are private school amenities, and not available at our public schools. They claim to have some public school experience but I am skeptical. They assert that all schools offer free extracurricular activities and outdoor activities every day after school. This is false at the elementary and middle school level where I live. The athletic teams sponsored by the school are highly competitive. Parents that want kids to do things need to find those opportunities and pay for them. Also, do your research, Girls on the run is wonderful but it is not at all what you described. It is not a casual, girl-led gathering where they walk around. It is led by parent volunteers and each session has a structured lesson and training programs. Finally, working parents do not have the luxury of zooming with their kids while working in the office.
