Tanner8989Intro to ProI’m new to vintage watches, and while I understand that this podcast is great for the extremely discerning and nuanced veterans, it’s also somehow accessible to newbies like me. So helpful to have resources like this to get new collectors up to speed. Thank you!!!

Endo iceFantastic podThis podcast is stellar, thank you Eric and Charlie. Your website, newsletter and the content within this pod sustain my passion for vintage watches and continue to be a massive source of enjoyment. Not only are you consummate professionals as businessmen and content creators, but your passion and chemistry shines through in everything you put out for us. Paywall be damned, I’m sticking around. Keep up the great work!

Nick MashWill put out (a review) for more episodesThese guys bring a bubble-pipe-and-sunglasses energy to a traditionally stuffy, tobacco-pipe-and-smoking-jacket category. Their knowledge is unmatched and they do a fantastic job making vintage watches an approachable pursuit for anyone interested in learning more. I ran into Charlie at a polo event in Wellington a while back and had a great chat about the Rowing Blazers BB58 when it first came out. Torrential downpour cut the conversation short, so I hope we cross paths again soon! Keep ‘em coming, guys!

Gabe L “Viper”Aces every time! Two words to describe this podcast: Pure Majesty. The content is a river of wisdom that carries you to distant lands. Like the mighty Amazon that swells in Spring, you will be swept away by their powerful banter and rapid antics. When the pod ends, you will sit on the shore, perhaps a bit scared and disoriented, but content in the knowledge that you will never be the same.

fusilli grindbest watch pod, period.I find myself fiending for the latest installment of TVWP weekly having followed the show since the 4th or 5th episode. Eric & Charlie’s expansive knowledge has filled my watchlist with many aspirational references well out of my pay grade, but they’ve also hooked it up with plenty of vintage deep cuts that mere mortals can afford. Thanks, gents.

Wound up LASmart & enjoyableAs a novice vintage enthusiast, I’m thoroughly enjoying these podcasts. Lots of info, woven into stories that are surprisingly easy to follow. Makes me appreciate vintage watches, scholarship, and passion for collecting even more. Appreciate the celebration of buying and selling mistakes from two experts. Love the humility and expertise, and Eric’s photographic memory is insane (Eric pop quiz what flavor ice cream did you have at your 10th birthday?). I bought a JLC e855 because I liked it and listening to that episode and reading Charlie’s Article was terrific - makes me want to find more. Great how you both poke fun at how to pronounce things - “pole-rooter” and “sub-marine-er” I can’t un-hear. Could go on and on…but I’ll shut up and listen to the next episode… Keep going.

Ryguy canEric and Charlie are topsIt’s refreshing to hear their energy and enthusiasm surrounding timepieces I love perusing the wind website and look forward to finding my next piece there - the pod gives current thoughts on our little fun hobby and its whimsies- in a world of so many excellent podcasts it’s refreshing that they haven’t tried to charge folks for what is a perfect ad for their website and a good way to keep interest and support without shoving ads and subscriptions down our throats

BrentonamousOf Timepieces and Ghoulish Tales: A Most Delightful ReckoningHark, thou seeker of horological lore! Allow me to extol the virtues of The Vintage Watch Podcast, where the hours are marked not by mere ticking, but by the melodious discourse of Eric and Charlie, sages in the art of antiquated timekeeping. Verily, their words doth glide like the sweep of a fine-crafted second hand, weaving tales of dials and bezels with a wit as sharp as a jeweler’s blade. Yet, it is not solely his wisdom that doth enthrall; nay, ’tis his uncivil yet delectable impressions of ghoulish clientele that doth set my spirits aloft. When Eric doth recount, with a wry sneer and savage guttural mirth, the tales of customers who assail him with a torrent of foolish questions—“Pray, dost thou think this watch will match my cousin’s third-best waistcoat?”—or those who hide behind the feeble excuse of awaiting their wife’s permission to purchase, though their hearts hold no true intent to buy, it is a spectacle most absurd. His voice, rich with mockery, doth transform into a theater of buffoons, leaving the listener in fits of laughter as one marvels at the audacity of these wayward souls. The podcast, much like a fine vintage watch, is a thing of layered beauty—precise in its craft, warm in its patina, and rich in tales that tick-tock through the annals of time. Eric and Charlie’s masterful balance of reverence for the art and irreverence for the absurd makes this endeavor a jewel among the rough-hewn stones of modern media. Thus, I commend The Vintage Watch Podcast unto thee, dear reader. Prepare thyself for mirth, for wisdom, and for the singular joy of Eric’s unholy impressions, which doth bring a delight to mine ear as sweet as the chiming of a rare repeater. Listen, and be entranced.

Alex1999mWasted Potential10% interesting stories, 20% me looking up reference numbers to see what they’re talking about, 60% complaining because people don’t want to pay $200 a year to hear about watches. Womp womp

PSR5196Great podcast!Entertaining and always extremely informative. It truly is a privilege to get this kind of unique perspective. The gentleman dealers serve up good banter, fun stories and fresh takes. The knowledge they bring to the table is unparalleled, and their honesty and integrity is equally notable. Considering the well-documented personal cost involved in producing this labor of love, I am grateful that Eric and Charlie regularly descend from horology’s Mt Olympus to generously share with the laity their passionate views on condition and the horrors of over-polishing. It would be a thrill and an honor to someday approach the dais and buy from them. In the meantime I will keep listening and look out for the book. Well done, keep it up, guys. Thank you!
-
MER803A Guilty PleasureEric and Charlie are a true joy. I love learning about watches - but you also get a great glimpse into the world of dealers. I love my ZBlue Milgauss but holy smokes was that 6541 beautiful. I will eventually buy a Vulcain from these fine gentleman. PS - the weekly email is actually posted on the website on Friday night 🤫 - you didn’t hear from me.
-
The KamsiahBest of the bestThese two scholarly crusaders have some strong and well earned opinions. If they think your watch is garbage they tell it to your face… and it probably is. Looking forward to the book!

Friend of dynamic duoFrom PashaA. Lange market update is brutal. They may not include you giys in some special events. The last joke on the Episode 21 was the best one i have heared in a while. Great job! Thank you both!
-
AScotYHonest and Expert OpinionsEric and Charlie - great listen and thanks for an amazing transaction. Hopefully I wasn’t too much of a time terrorist! The content here is very informative and love the banter in between.

RealToToMoToEric Wind and Charlie Dunne appreciation reviewWhen I restarted my watch journey, I wrote you an email, and you replied and then contacted me via iMessage. I thought that was amazing. I have learned a lot from your newsletters, interviews, Instagram, and podcasts. Maybe next time I go to Palm Beach, we can meet. On my last visit, I rode the Brightline and had lunch around there. By the way, I still have my Omega Speedmaster Straight Writing. I now know it’s a keeper, thanks to you.

10thWATCHCharlie Munger and Warren Buffett style watch insights and wit!Let’s stop for a second and appreciate the fact that Eric and Charlie are sharing some incredibly insightful and one of a kind experiences within the world of vintage watches and watch collecting. Sure, yeah I know, I’m biased because we are dear friends, but there are aspects of the day to day and details that I get from this podcast that are so helpful in the way I think about my collection and future purchases. I’ve always been the type of person that educates myself as much as possible before I make a purchase and following Eric all these years from What’s Selling Where to Reference Points to YouTube recordings of the NY Horological Society talks to today, has really made educating myself fun and way simpler. There’s not enough I can say about host Charlie Dunne. His wit and quick insights are so raw and authentic. This duo is what makes collecting so rewarding!

Unc Toddy ToddThe best workplace buddy comedy ever madeHave you been brainwashed by consensus narratives in Internet watch culture? Sure. We all have. The Vintage Watch Podcast is the antidote to horological groupthink. Esoteric knowledge? Check. Connoisseur sensibility? Yes indeed. Willingness to name names and reveal the dirty little secrets of the preowned timepiece trade? For sure. But the best part of this podcast isn’t the watch-talk at all. It’s the unobstructed window into the world of entrepreneurs whose real product is trust. It also happens to be the best workplace buddy comedy since Office Space. Confession — I’m the guy that harasses Charlie and Eric for Ref. 565 yellow gold Calatravas, but actually buys nothing but chunky dive watches.
-
RE1000OmeeegahLove the podcast, I love vintage watches and I always end up learning something besides the fun banter, stories or such. Especially liked the watch spotting episode, more of that too please. But tbh the main, main reason I listen to the pod is to hear Charlie say "Oh-Mee-gah" like a British person. Keep up the great work, Eric and Charlie
-
Redwes25Good podcastThis is definitely one of the better watch podcasts. Enjoy the vintage focus and knowledgeable discussion.

P.G. 13A Triumph of the Human SpiritIn a world filled with the corpses of dead watch podcasts, The Vintage Watch Podcast rises above the fray as a beacon of truthiness in horology.
-
DaveCinIndyGreat watch podcastI love hearing Eric and Charlie banter about all things horological. I recently bought my daughters first Rolex from them - they’re great to deal with. Keep up the great work, I’d love to hear more Patek content!
-
Richard SabelExpert content, low productionThey’re clearly some of the most knowledgeable people in the industry, which is great. The voice processing (episode 20), is awful, doesn’t sound natural at all at this time of listening. Another thing that’s pulling the rating of this review down is that each episode starts with them going through the podcast reviews.
-
Bugsy…5 Stars Thank youBest podcast out there. Appreciate the effort.
-
Subpoeña ColadaGreat content!Awesome to hear two authorities speaking about vintage watches. Audio quality is great. I would love to hear more about your vintage collections, vintage watch care, finding reputable watchmakers for service, etc.

Ddog2169Please do more annoying customer stories :)Great pod with lots of opinions and scholarship mixed with banter. I’ve been listening to past episodes, episode 12 Eric details a back and forth text convo between him and a prospective client, complete with a hilarious impression. Please do more of these, as someone who has the PLEASURE of interacting with customers every day, it gave me great joy. 5 stars!

KRBC902Excellent!This is a truly great podcast. Eric and Charlie have the ability to weave in tremendous detail and nuance while keeping it light and entertaining.

CWC Cult LeaderSpectacular & accessibleEric Wind & Charlie Dunn’s The Vintage Watch podcast is my favorite watch podcast of all time. Not only are they both experts in their field but they make the information accessible to any collector. I look forward to listening and learning a lot more from them as this podcasts evolves.
-
DesperatelyseekingChucklesI never write Yelp reviews…But, I will always write a review for a podcast like this- and this one is truly unique. I’ve asked Eric watch questions for years and have bought one of my favorite watches from him, a watch that I truly cherish. Here the banter is funny; the topics are technical and geeky. There’s no hype (thank God). It’s why we love watches. There should be more scholarship and less salesmanship with watches. I’m all in. Thanks boys.
-
Bill sohneA great show ….always bring the HEATHello everyone As a long time vintage collector …. This duo brings content and insight ! If you can’t talk directly to Eric and Charlie this is the next best thing …. Won’t miss it … Bill

Your friend ThomasWe yearn to learn! From the ashes of Significant Watches rises the PHOENIX that is The Vintage Watch Podcast! Eric and Charlie have crafted the perfect podcast recipe for vintage enthusiasts. You’ve got meaty topics to sink your teeth into, nutritious factoids reflecting years of research, and just enough saltiness and industry gossip to bring it all to life. Simply put, it’s the best podcast in the game.

koooovesThe Duality of ManOften times I see someone wearing the latest Richard Mille and think to myself “what if I was that cool?”. I imagine a life where I drive a lime green Lamborghini Aventador and people, slack jawed, clammer at the opportunity to photograph me in public. I imagine they will tell their grandkids about that one time they saw the next modern day equivalent, bitcoin slinging, Steve McQueen. It’s in these moments I make sure to ground myself by turning on the Vintage Watch Podcast. Often while sitting in the spa, a natural setting for Eric’s voice, I put in my AirPods and am reminded I am in fact not that person and probably won’t ever be. I prefer old things, and I prefer hearing the elder statesmen of the watch community evangelize the importance of unpolished lugs. This is not a gentle place. If given the opportunity to, Eric and Charlie will roast your inherited 1940s Patek Minute repeater if one of your forefathers had the lapse of judgement and accidentally send his prized watch in for servicing, a capital offense in this corner of the internet. That being said, this is perhaps that last vestige of vintage watch integrity and passion devoid of TikTok references and pay for play pseudo ad reads. A place to ground the duality of man and make sure the old stays new. Five stars.

joel858Lapping it up!I’m a newbie to vintage but absolutely lapping up everything Eric and Charlie have to say about the subject. The podcast, their blog, Eric’s HODINKEE archive and HSNY talks are goldmines of information. How could you trust any other dealer to buy a vintage watch! I’m super excited to hear they’re writing a book and hope this five star review helps me get the two copies I want inscribed and autographed! 😉 Thanks guys! Keep up the amazing work you do and the community service you provide. Cheers! Joel K

Red1111111111111OK OK OKWriting a review. I guess Spotify doesn’t let you do written reviews. Still scared off the vintage world but love listening to you guys and I know where to come for my first vintage purchase down the line.

AdamRLincolnThe loveJust making sure they feel the love! Things a great pod dedicated to all things vintage watches! Guess they’ll likely not read this as I’m sure listenership is through the roof by this point in the month! Great work guys!

Swalker_77Favorite watch podcastAn excellent evolution of the Significant Watches podcast, which I already loved - if you care about vintage watches and don’t like this pod, there’s probably something wrong with you

@for_a_fistful_of_watchesEpisode 1As a novice to the vintage world I’m thankful for high quality content. Eric and Charlie pack the time with scholarship, historical context, and stories of family. The episode seems to be calibrated for real collectors, but for the uninitiated barriers are low. These are world class experts and seasoned writers, the podcast is really a weekly treat. Fantastic work.

CreeedKeeping me healthy!I was going to leave a review anyway but now this will probably come off as being left under duress. Make all the threats you wish, gentlemen. We all know you aren’t going anywhere. You enjoy this as much as your audience does. Anyway, I’ll include my PayPal separately as agreed upon in return for this review. Joking aside, what can I say that hasn’t already been said? I always come away having been entertained and also learning something new. Two great personalities with an almost unbelievable amount of watch knowledge. What more can you ask for from a podcast? I’m not sure how it happened but I have also come to trust you two pretty explicitly when it comes to watches. I consume a fair amount of watch content and there are very few others that I would say that about. With great power comes great responsibility err something, right? Keep it up, guys. It’s one of the few things I look forward to when I take my hour long walks. So one could say this podcast is even doing its part to keep me healthy!

Andi loves youVintage watch newbSo I have been learning as much as I can about vintage watches. Of course, Eric Wind’s name pops up on almost every forum, podcast, social media account when you type “Vintage Watches.” It came to no surprise when I found out that he and Charlie started a vintage watch podcast. I can say without a doubt, that it is both very informative and entertaining. I learn more and more about the industry and watches as a whole through every article and podcast I dive into. Thanks guys! Keep it up! And keep it free
-
Rudy8787Because you askedLeaving this review because you only got two and clearly your egos can’t handle the lack of attention. But clearly also I can’t endure losing the podcast. The 10 value vintage watch podcast is beautiful timed as I am listening to it before I head to Nakano broadway. Thank you for providing additional inspiration and always have a dry sense of humor.
-
Luis Ernesto PinolAnother 5 Star ReviewAs a collector of Breguet, novelties revealed during the World’s Fair, and personal birth year watches… I find a lot of comfort knowing these are topics cherished and embraced by the horological homies. Keep it up guys @louieperignon.

SwimmingRemyVintage Watches and Alter EgosNo other watch duo, besides James and Jason from TGN, have been worthy of my undying attention. But, be warned, once Eric’s voice starts to sound gruff, his alter ego, let’s call him Windy McGruff, surfaces and he starts sharing some of his email and text conversations, the gloves are off. Of course, there’s always a ton of vintage watch knowledge dropped in every episode.
