If you are a fan of Amazing Spider Man, this is an absolutely clutch podcast to listen to. Dan and Mark walk through each issue every other week and do deep and thorough explorations of the back catalogue every season. Also has great interviews. Thoughtful criticism and honest takes. 10/10

I’ve been a long time listener of the show and learned a ton about my favorite marvel character as a result. I will no longer be listening, however, because these gentlemen just cannot help themselves but to interject political banter attacking only one side with each episode. I don’t listen to any podcast for politics. I also don’t require them to agree with me on politics. This was supposed to be a fun & entertaining podcast and you have abandoned your promise!

Their regular, deep dive episodes are always fantastic but I joined the Patreon years ago because I fell in love with their reviews. I feel like they’re easily the best out there because they actually care about what they’re saying. Even when I might disagree with a final grade or a point, I have to give them credit for articulating their opinions so well and not just relying on the “hot take” style that is so prevalent today.

Amazing Spider-Talk without a doubt, the best Spider-Man podcast. I have listened to several of the others, and Dan and Mark are my only must listen. They are thoughtful, respectful, and willing to hold Marvel editorial to task. They truly get the difference between criticism and just being critical. I am proud to be a longtime listener and a Patreon supporter.

This is a great show, I am not a huge fan of spider-man more of a X-men fan but the hosts interest in this subject make me want to read even when the comic isn’t as good. Professional and well researched if you are looking for more info Spider-Man, this is a good place to start.

This show is sensational. As an avid spidey comics reader, it’s amazing to have a digital place to go to hear discourse on one of my favorite things to read. Dan & Mark discuss these comics with the perfect balance of intelligence and levity. This podcast is also spectacular for catching up on the story of you’re looking for a way to jump into ASM. I came in mid-Spencer run, and it was great to be able to listen back on some of the stories I missed while J was at work. There’s so much discourse, hot takes and heated language in comics fandom right now, Spider-Man fandom especially. Despite being a fun, all-ages character with wide appeal, it’s hard to find level-headed, nuanced chatter about everyone’s favorite Friendly Neighborhood hero… which is why I LOVE this podcast! Mark and Dan are two incredibly smart, articulate fans whose perspectives on the character and his history go way beyond the fanboyish riff raff one would expect from a podcast about Marvel Comics. Whether it be the bi-weekly issue reviews or their longer form explorations of certain eras of the comic’s storied history, I just love hearing these guys talk about Spider-Man! They’ve got a great knowledge and great chemistry on mic. It’s a treat whenever a new episode drops on my feed. This is a perfect show for anyone who’s a lifelong fan of the character OR for someone who knows Spidey from his many movies, cartoons and games but never dove deep into the comics side. It’s a great little show about the greatest Marvel hero of all time! PS Annuals tooootally count!

Well some of them. Their opinions are decently argued and thought out…so of course I don’t always agree. But I’ve listened to three years of Superior/Amazing in three months to hear enough to support them on patreon and thoroughly recommend to anyone who enjoys a character centric analysis and discussion of Peter Parker.

I have loved Marvels for years, and had literally no one to talk to to discuss individual story arcs or the wonderful talents of John Romita Jr or Sr! Thank you for existing and I have homework to do, read the comic and then listening to each of the episodes. I really enjoy hearing other peoples take on the beloved WebHead. Simply put, the BEST Spider-Man podcast going!

These two keep this show straight forward and on rails. Unlike other long running spidey podcasts I never feel the need to turn it off because 5 people are talking over one another trying to say the same thing in 5 different ways. Been listening since the superior days right as I graduated high school at 19 and now I’m almost 30 with a job and a house and these guys have been the background of my life for 10 years.

Entertaining and insightful. Sincere and careful criticism from the hosts - not two guys on a mic looking to outdo each other or gin up false outrage. Straightforward and insightful discussion from two fans. Comics creator interviews are a highlight. If you enjoy Spider-Man you’ll love this show.

Mark and Dan do it all. Not only do you get thoughtful comic reviews that consider the writing, art, and storytelling on their own merits (and don’t just judge whether they fulfill fanboy fantasies), you also get insightful interviews with industry legends, thorough histories of Spider-Man across media, and the best breakdowns of the most nonsensical stories in Spider-history!

Mark, Dan, and their incredibly talented guests do a ton of work to give you a thoughtful and well researched opinion on Spider-Man’s various comics, films, and more. There real passion but also scholarly analysis. One of the best podcasts around.

Dan and Mark are the best! Fair and balanced, super entertaining, it feels like sitting around with a couple of like minded friends that really know their stuff (Spidey, storytelling, comics, and otherwise). A lot of fun for any Spidey reader that wants to hear intelligent discourse on the latest issue none of your real life friends care about lol. This podcast, and the super positive Slack community they’ve set up for the fans that love it, are a continual source of joy for me. 5+ stars! Happy to be a Patreon member, and if you like Spidey and aren’t participating in this you’re NUTS! Nuff said.

I got into the podcast after I picked up Mark’s book a few years back (highly recommend) and now I can’t imagine going on a drive without listening. The amount of knowledge and passion Mark and Dan have for the character is incredible. Its difficult to have in depth conversations about the web-head with the people in my life, so being able to hear two friends dissect spider-man’s mythology is always a joy. It makes me feel proud to be apart of this community.

Not a single episode spider man (Peter Parker in case you didn’t know who it was) never appears in any episodes not even one! When I first saw this and I thought “hey maybe spidey made his own podcast like Doreen Green (aka squirrel girl) did!” Apparently when I heard the first episode I was disappointed.

If you want to take your Spider-Man fandom to the next level, I highly recommend checking out this amazing podcast. Listening to these two guys talk about everything Spider-Man (comics, movies, etc) has been a welcome periodic respite from the drear and dread of these COVID times in which we’re living. And they’ve fostered a wonderful and welcoming community of Spidey fans in their affiliated Slack: the Amazing Spider-Slack. Top notch stuff - five stars doesn’t do it justice.

This is a great podcast. Both hosts are funny and intelligent and have great observations and detailed conversations that I really enjoy. They know their history and continually point out things that I didn't notice or fully understand when reading an issue. Perfect for the Spider-Man lover that really wants to have these type of deep conversations but can't in a world full of J. Jonah Jamesons. Keep up the good work!

The hosts offer a great blend of geekiness and approachability, making this a great show for Spider-Man fans of all sorts. They offer enough minutiae to educate even hardcore collectors but are charming enough to know what trivia is actually interesting and fun to talk about. The focus is definitely on official Spider-Man comics, movies, collectibles, toys, and video games, but I like that the hosts get goofy and creative to let their own personalities come through. When you add in great interviews with creatives from every aspect of Spider-Man’s story, this show is sure to deepen anyone’s love of the greatest character ever created!

I absolutly love Spider-Man and and currently trying to collect every single issue of Amazing Spider-Man but i have to said the annuals do not count apart from 1 and 21. This podcast has been such a blast to listen to, giving us great reviews of storylines, issue reviews, and interviews with Spider-Man creators. My only complaint is that i'm going to run out of back issue poscasts too soon listening to Dan and Mark on Amazing Spider-Talk 8hrs a day during my work week. I wish i could give this poscast more then 5 stars because it is so good it deseerves way more then five. Keep up the good work Dan and Mark I look forward to each new podcast as it comes out!!

I just discovered this podcast a week or so ago. I'd been going back through my longbox of old ASM issues after recently deciding to pick up a few new ones from the store. I was poking around the internet, so see what kind of fan resources were out there, and came across this podcast. I'm now burning this candle at both ends - listening to the newest episodes, while also starting back at the beginning and working my way forward. It's great! So glad I found a couple of guys talking about this like adults, adding a new layer of analysis to the cultural touchstone that is Amazing Spider-Man - gives me even more to enjoy abput one of my favorite things!
